Race 1: Heinrich Bloodstock Brisbane Bloodstock Bonus 2yo Maiden H’cap - 1200m
1st – Iglesia Fair 2nd – Athenas Gift 3rd – Joburg Angel 4th - Gendarme

ITS SHOWTIME FOLKS (L. Morrison) jumped away awkwardly.

Leaving the 900m, ATHENAS GIFT (R. Wiggins) was forced to race in restricted room for some distance to the inside of GENDARME (D. Brown), which was taken in by ERINTEE (L. Cheshire).

IGLESIA FAIR (D. Barron) raced wide throughout.

ADMIRAL SEA (A. Spinks) lost both hind plates in running.


Race 2: Bryan Guy Racing Stables 4yo & Up Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – The Noble House 2nd – Wishenda 3rd – Airess 4th – Catwalk Strut

ELTON’S SON (O. Turpin) jumped away awkwardly.

PRETKIN (S. Drake) and CATWALK (A. Pattillo) were slow to begin.

CATWALK STRUT (A. Pattillo) raced wide throughout.



Race 3: The Bayliss Family QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m
1st – Indian Secret 2nd – King Brahm 3rd – Von Zipper 4th – Atlantic Light

PIC THE KING (G. Colless), when fractious in the barriers, struck the left leg of A. Pattillo, rider of PRIDE OF POLAND, which was in the adjoining stall. As G. Colless and A. Pattillo were both injured in this incident, PIC THE KING and PRIDE OF POLAND were declared late scratchings at 1.59 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on PIC THE KING and PRIDE OF POLAND were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 22 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 22 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets. As G. Colless and A. Pattillo were injured, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. Trainer N. Hole was advised that she must produce a barrier certificate for PIC THE KING prior to its next race start.

On jumping away, KNIGHT’S GEM shifted out abruptly and continued to shift outwards, making heavy contact with the outside fence, dislodging D. Browne. Trainer G. Kennedy was advised that KNIGHT’S GEM would be required to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards on 2 occasions prior to its next race start. As D. Brown was injured and transported to hospital, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

VON ZIPPER (J. Kropp) laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

ATLANTIC LIGHT (G. Butler) laid out rounding the home turn and did so for the remainder of the event.

ATLANTIC LIGHT raced wide throughout.


Race 4: Greg Grant Saddlery 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1600m,
1st – Iluva Queenslander 2nd –Eternal Star 3rd –Tully Minstrel 4th – Kenny’s Magic

Due to a race book error, J. Holder was shown and the rider of ILUVA QUEENSLANDER when D. Browne was the declared rider of that gelding. As D. Browne was injured in race 3, J. Byrne was substituted as the ride of that gelding.

Stewards approved a rider change from K. Forrester to T. Pannell as the rider of ETERNAL STAR. Stewards will interview K. Forrester regarding his failure to fulfil that engagement.

STRAWBERRY RIPPLE (S. Galloway) jumped inwards at the start, making contact with FOR FREEDOM (A. Spinks), and a short distance later shifted out, tightening the running of TULLY MINSTREL (L. Cheshire).

KENNY’S MAGIC (M. Heagney) and ILUVA QUEENSLANDER (J. Byrne) made contact on jumping away.

Approaching he 1500m, KENNY’S MAGIC (M. Heagney) had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room between ELATE AND EXCITE (R. Wiggins) and ILUVA QUEENSLANDER (J. Byrne), both of which shifted ground slightly.

CHARGED (P. Hammersley) was held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn.



Race 5: Queensland Racehorse Owners Association Class 6 H’cap - 1600m
1st – Spirited Express 2nd – Riseupsinging 3rd – Ram Jam Inn 4th – Darkside Lass

ST LOUIS BLUE (D. Barron) jumped away awkwardly.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of RULE BY RIGHT, S. Galloway stated that although the slow pace in the early stages of the race did not suit the mare, he was of the opinion that RULE BY RIGHT also failed to handle the slow track conditions today. A post-race veterinary examination of RULE BY RIGHT failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 6: Wholesale Sand & Doherty Constructions Class 1 H’cap - 1000m
1st – Page Number 2nd – Nine Covers 3rd – Zazz 4th –Magnetic Bay

NINE COVERS (J. Taylor) jumped away awkwardly.

PAGE NUMBER (M. Heagney) was slow to begin.

Near the 800m, BUDDY AWESOME (C. Eaton) had to be steadied off the heels of ZAZZ (M. Speers), which shifted in. In this incident, BUDDY AWESOME made contact with the hind quarters of BANISHED (T. Chambers) and shifted out abruptly. MAARRUU (L. Cheshire), which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence.

Near the 300m, MAGNETIC BAY (P. Hammersley) was disappointed for a run between VISITATION (J. Taylor) and NINE COVERS (J. Byrne), which shifted out.

TOO GOOD (M. Morris) raced wide for the majority of the event.

T. Chambers was reprimanded for failing to weigh in as the 5th placegetter.

Race 7: justracing.com.au Jim McGill Class 3 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Casa Cardoso 2nd –Foxie Em 3rd – Pinelope 4th – Chicken Bob

Due to transport difficulties, LUNACAMPO was declared a late scratching at 1.40 pm

Following the downgrading of the track to slow, stewards acceded to a request from trainers F. Phillips (WALLAN ROAD), S. Mackinnon (AL FAWZI) and A. Williamson (MISS MAREBELLE) to scratch their runners from this event at 1.40 pm. WALLAN ROAD, AL FAWZI, and MISS MAREBELLE will now incur a slow track bars.

FOXIE EM (S. Bogenhuber) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

STAR OF MINTO (S. Galloway) was slow to begin.

Leaving the 200m, PINELOPE (R. Wiggins) improved up on to the heels of the tiring SCENIC SPIRIT (M. Paget) and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.

RAYMONDS REWARD (R. Hancock) and ARSANG (A. Spinks) raced wide for the majority of the event.



Race 8: Statewide Taxation Services Class 1 H’cap - 1400m
1st – Uncle Jan 2nd – Saba San 3rd – Asituation 4th – New South

Following the downgrading of the track to slow, stewards acceded to a request from trainer S. Mackinnon to scratch DAWNS QUEEN at 1.40 pm from this event. DAWNS QUEEN will now incur a slow track bar.

RAKSASA (J. Byrne) was slow to begin.

STARELIE (M. Speers) jumped away awkwardly, making heavy contact with the off-side barrier partition. As a result, M. Speers lost the use of his right stirrup iron. Then near the 1100m, STARELIE shifted out and made heavy contact with ZOOKEEPER. M. Speers subsequently withdrew his left foot from the stirrup iron near the 800m and took no further competitive part in the race.

ZOOKEEPER (M. Morris) raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Approaching the 100m, NEXT WEEKEND (A. Spinks) shifted out under pressure, inconveniencing THROUGH THE WAVES (O. Turpin).

FLASH BITE (R. Hancock) raced wide throughout.
