Race 1: OFFICE NATIONAL CALOUNDRA H’CAP – 1000M
STORMWOOD (T O’Hara) and TORCELLO (C Schmidt) were both slow to begin.
COUNTRY COMMAND (M O’Brien) blundered on jumping away.
WEHRMAN (A Butler) shifted out leaving the 400m, making contact with FALLFORME (M McKenzie) which became unbalanced.
MYSTERIOUS MAN (A Spinks) hung in leaving the 400m, then near the 200m commenced to hang out making contact with WEHRMAN which shifted out onto FALLFORME which in-turn shifted out forcing COUNTRY COMMAND wider on the track.
STORMWOOD was held up on the heels of the tiring SAMMY LOU (A Taylor) from leaving the 400m until near the 300m.
MYSTERIOUS MAN and FALLFORME both raced wide for the majority of the race.
A post - race veterinary examination of MYSTERIOUS MAN revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer D. Roberts was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness must be provided prior to MYSTERIOUS MAN being permitted to race or trial again.
Race 2: GLOVER’S CONCRETING PTY LTD MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
SHEPIKTUS was declared a late scratching at 9.00am. Trainer N. McCall was fined the sum of $100.00 in that she failed to scratch that filly by the prescribed time. Ms McCall was fined a further $100.00 in that she failed to declare J. Stanley, as the rider of ALL IN ALL by the prescribed time.
KLAIRISSIMMO was declared a late scratching at 3.45pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
GADAWON (R McMahon), WHITTLESEA LASS (A Spinks) and SMOKING SUCCESS (M McKenzie) were all slow to begin.
TARGARYEN (P Holmes) began awkwardly and shifted out making heavy contact with ANGIN SAYANAGA API (M O’Brien) which in-turn shifted out making contact with IRRESISTIBLE ME (A Butler).
ANGIN SAYANAGA API overraced near the 700m when racing in restricted room between WHITTLESEA LASS and LADY HORSEPOWER (B Derbyshire) which shifted in slightly and had to be steadied.
LADY HORSEPOWER was steadied to avoid the heels of ALL IN ALL (J Stanley) which shifted out slightly near the 200m.
GADAWON had difficulties obtaining clear running from the 400m until leaving the 300m.
IRRESISTIBLE ME, GAYLEN (A Taylor) and TARGARYEN all raced wide for the majority of the race.
ALL IN ALL lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 3: MONTEZUMAS CALOUNDRA H’CAP – 1600M
Shortly after the start HEBITDA (K Wharton) shifted out making contact with HEART STEALER (C McIver) which lost ground.
HEBITDA had a tendency to overrace in the middle stages of the race.
HEBITDA shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 400m making contact with STAINER (A Butler).
A post race veterinary examination of MISS RADICAL which compounded in the home straight, failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer D Churchill advised Stewards that MISS RADICAL would be sent for an immediate spell.
Race 4: HANDI-CART TROLLEY CENTRE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
SPLENDENT CHOICE (T Jeffries) and PERFECT KNOWLEDGE (T O'Hara) were slow to begin.
Apprentice C Schmidt rider of BALDY HOST was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137 (a) in that near the 1100m, she permitted her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SPLENDENT CHOICE (T Jeffries) causing that runner to be checked and shift in resulting in KINESIS KISS (K Wharton) being severely checked, making contact with the running rail and losing its rightful running. In this incident, PERFECT KNOWLEDGE (T O’Hara) which was following had to be checked as a consequence and shifted out. App. C Schmidt’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings to commence at midnight Saturday 9 November 2013 up to and including Tuesday 19 November 2013.
PICTURE IT (A Butler) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Near the 800m, PERFECT KNOWLEDGE which was racing fiercely at the heels of SPLENDENT CHOICE shifted in when being checked to avoid that runners heels resulting in KINESIS KISS which was racing back to the inside of PERFECT KNOWLEDGE also having to be checked and lose its position. PERFECT KNOWLEDGE then continued to overrace for some distance.
For a short distance entering the home straight BALDY HOST was held up for clear running.
Race 5: SUNSHINE COAST DAILY MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
MIAGRACE (A Butler) and HOW CAN I HELP (T O’Hara) were slow to begin.
LIGHTNING DRIFT (I French) began awkwardly.
MR SEDUCTION (M Gray) overraced in the early and middle stages of the race.
CRIMSON FORCE (S Fawke) overraced in the early and middle stages resulting in the horse racing wide for the majority of the race.
Race 6: SUNSHINE COAST SEA EAGLES INC: BM80 H’CAP – 1600M
ELUSIVE KING (J Johnson) was slow to begin.
ELUSIVE KING which overraced in the early and middle stages of the race was obliged to raced wide until a point leaving the 800m.
Race 7: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M
Near the 1100m QUEEN CAESAR (R McMahon) had to be restrained when overracing to avoid the heels of BERNITCHY (M Vance) which shifted in. QUEEN CASAER then overraced for some distance at the heels of BERNITCHY. M Vance rider of BERNITCHY was severely reprimanded and advised to be clear when shifting ground.
A post race veterinary examination of LORD O’LORDY (M McKenzie) which tailed out and was uncompetitive failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Trainer S Bannan, was advised that the nomination of LORD O’LORDY would be refused at TAB meetings until such time the gelding proved to be competitive by way of country meetings.
