TOWER HILL PICNIC AMATEUR RACE INC. CLUB –SATURDAY 5th MAY, 2007 (Day Two).
WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING - Good (Dirt).
RAIL - No Running Rail.

General This meeting was conducted under the conditions of the Queensland Community Racing Scheme (QCRS). No Photo Finish operated at this meeting. All prizes were in the form of trophies only. The only professional rider who rode at this meeting was John DAGAN. All other riders who competed were licensed Approved Riders. All races started by means of flag start. No photo finish in operation. Minimum Weight for all races = 70kg.

Race 1: LERIDA LOADA MAIDEN PLATE –W.F.A. 1000 METRES ( 3 Starters).
1st - TO THE LIMIT. 2nd - MONJANNIC. 3rd - GOING BEAUTIFULLY.
MONJANNIC (D.Owens), was unsettled in the line up immediately prior to the start. GOING BEAUTIFULLY (A.Leonard) lost some eights lengths as the flag start was effected.

Race 2: RISING SUN HONDA (RESTRICTED TROPHY 2). 1000 Meters ( 4 Starters).
1st - YAMADO 2nd - KWILA BLACK. 3rd - MILL CREEK. 4th - STELLA BELLUS
YAMADO (D.Owens) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected. At the 800 metre turn YAMADO gained an inside run when SIR BANNER (Ms R.Solway and KWILA BLACK (Ms A. McIntosh) shifted outwards on that turn. MILL CREEK (A. Leonard) raced ungenerously for most of the race, attempting to get its head into the air.

Race 3: PENLAN (RESTRICTED TROPHY 3 RACE). 1000 Meters
( 5 Starters).
1st - LADY FLICK 2nd - ABAGNALE. 3rd - BLAZCAYTE 4th - TOOTSIE’S CHARM.
BOZ’S BOY (Ms A. McIntosh) was slow into stride as the flag start was effected and lost some two lengths and was then forced to race wide rounding the 800 metre turn.


Race 4: AMBO GRAZING (OPEN TROPHY RACE) – SET WEIGHTS.
800 Metres. (7 Starters).
1st - COMPACT CURVES. 2nd - JET ABOUT CHICK. 3rd - JET SEDAR. 4th - NIP OF BRONZE
No racing incidents.

Race 5: KATE WEDGEWOOD MEMORIAL (OPEN TROPHY RACE). – W.F.A. 1200 Metres . (7 Starters).
1st - AQUA DIANE. 2nd - CHARINO. 3rd - EARTHQUAKE. 4th - PENNY’S SISTER.
PENNY’S SISTER shifted out under pressure near the 100 metres and Jockey M.Davey was obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Race 6: ROBINSON CATERING (RESTRICTED TROPHY 4 RACE). – W.F.A.
1200 Metres. ( 5 Starters).
1st - FRISKY CAKE. 2nd - SIMPLY NINA 3rd - MASTER STIRLING. 4th - POLISKY
As the flag start was effected, SIMPLY NINA (J.Dagan), jumped awkwardly and then travelled up over the rill on the inside of the track and lost some eight to ten lengths before settling into stride. POLISKY (Ms R.Solway) was slow into stride as the start was effected.

Race 7: WILLY’S GIFT (OPEN TROPHY RACE). – W.F.A. 1600 Metres.
(4 Starters).
1st - SAND CAY. 2nd - HI KEA. 3rd - MISTER BRUMBY. 4th - CASING
CASING (J.DAGAN), failed to stretch out at any stage of the race and raced like a tired horse. Jockey Dagan when interviewed verified this. Trainer Mr. K.SORENSEN advised that the horse will now be turned out.
