RACE 1: EASTERN RURAL 3YO MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
1st – Our Charlie 2nd – Gemstone Peak 3rd – Amron Fair 4th – Nothin’leica Minto
ROCKY LINER, which was slow to begin, commenced to hang shortly afterwards and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Connections of ROCKY LINER were advised a warning would be placed on that gelding.
Near the 900m, METAMURPHY was forced to check after shifting out making contact with the hindquarters of ORANGE FERRARI, which as a result shifted in tightening METAMURPHY across the heels of AMRON FAIR, which shifted out.
Near the 800m, ORANGE FERRARI shifted in causing NOTHIN’LEICA MINTO to be eased.
Connections of ORANGE FERRARI, which pulled up in a distressed state, were advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to next start.
RACE 2: BMO ACCOUNTANTS/COMMERCIAL HOTEL CLASS B H’CAP 1000M
1st – Burmak 2nd – Barbarian 3rd – Sha Keel 4th – Salamat Kiitos Moi
SHA KEEL and PERCHERON were both slow to begin.
RACE 3: BRANDON & ASSOCIATES CLASS 2 H’CAP 1200M
1st – Double Bogey (NZ) 2nd – Ordos 3rd – Kelabu Jutawan 4th – Cullie Cullie
DANETARKIE blundered on jumping away dislodging its rider M Tarrant.
Post race vet inspection of CULLIE CULLIE revealed the gelding had broken down in the off fore leg. Connections were advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to next start.
RACE 4: BLACK TOYOTA TARA CUP OPEN H’CAP 1400M
1st – Lightning Johann 2nd – Just Different 3rd – Birubi Chosen 4th – Midnight Avenue
MIDNIGHT AVENUE and BIRUBI CHOSEN were both slow to begin.
Shortly after the start MIDNIGHT AVENUE shifted out tightening KID TREASURE out onto the hindquarters of BIRUBI CHOSEN.
KID TREASURE raced wide throughout.
RACE 5: CRAIGLEA/RAHEEN/MINLACOWIE DROUGHTMASTER/MARR’S DOWN’S SERIES CLASS 4 H’CAP 1400M
1st – Stormy Bend 2nd – Add It Up 3rd – King Corona 4th – Mr Kelly
ALANOR DEE DEE was declared a non-runner after its barrier failed to open with the rest of the field. Upon declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on ALANOR DEE DEE be refunded and the following deductions on successful tickets to apply, 12c on the face value of all win tickets and 11c on the face value of all place tickets.
Near the 1300m, STORMY BEND was forced to check and lost ground when tightened for room by ADD IT UP, which shifted in and away from KING CORONA, before being tightened for room itself by KING CORONA, which shifted in. Both R Kerwin (ADD IT UP) and R Tilley (KING CORONA) were reprimanded for this incident.
Near the 1100m, BRIDGE TO VICTORY shifted in abruptly causing KING CORONA to be checked and lose considerable ground.
