GENERAL:
Due to a shortage in available riders, late rider changes were made as per the steward’s race day summary.


Race 1 TARA HOTEL MOTEL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M:

FLAMBOYANT MISS, which was fractious in the float en route to todays meeting underwent a veterinary examination prior to this event and was subsequently passed fit to start.

MISS AMABELLA – Underwent a veterinary examination after being kicked by another runner in the preliminary and was subsequently passed fit to start.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards enquired into the start of the event. Trainer V. Heading and Apprentice Jockey E. Ljung made a submission to stewards that GO WEST TO COSTA be declared a non-runner. After considering all evidence and viewing the available patrol films, stewards acting under the provisions of AR 134 were satisfied that Go West To Costa had been afforded a fair start and the application to rule GO WEST TO COSTA as a non-runner was declined.

DUBSTEP - Jumped in and made contact with another runner.

SPATHONIS - Bumped by another runner on jumping.

GO WEST TO COSTA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

FLAMBOYANT MISS – Rider reported at scale that the filly had a tendency to hang out throughout the event. Raced wide throughout.


Race 2 RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS BMK 65 – 1000M:

DWAN - Jumped in the air at the start.

MUNDO NOVA - Bumped by another runner on jumping away. Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident near the 800m. After taking evidence from C. Rogers (MUNDO NOVA) and apprentice E. Ljung (ROBERTS COMMAND), the inquiry was adjourned to allow E. Ljung to fulfill her riding engagements at Toowoomba.

BUDDY ROCKS – Raced wide throughout.

ROBERT’S COMMAND –Trainer T. Dougall advised that the shorter racing distance in todays event may have added to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.


Race 3 BRANDON & ASSOCIATES/ALL ROADS CLASS B HCP – 1200M:

EXCEEDINGLY FINE – Underwent a veterinary examination after being kicked by another runner in the preliminary and was subsequently passed fit to start.

ANSOUIS – Raced wide throughout.

SEQUELENE – Raced wide throughout.

CRAWS – Raced wide throughout.


Race 4 WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL TARA CUP OPEN HCP – 1400M:

PREACHER BOY – Was slow to begin.

BIG BAD JOEL – Jumped out and made contact with another runner.

TOUCAN UKELELE – Bumped another runner on jumping away.

MODERN AL – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

HELL’S KITCHEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

AQUATORIAL – When questioned in regards to the seemingly disappointing performance, apprentice jockey M. Kai stated that the instructions were to race with cover and after beginning fairly he was obliged to race at the tail of the field. Apprentice M. Kai further added that from the 600m he placed his mount under pressure however, it did not respond as he would have liked and in his opinion was most disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of Aquatorial failed to reveal any abnormalities.

At the conclusion of this event Jockey R. Kerwin became ill and was subsequently stood down. Ms. Kerwin was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.


Race 5 CAREFLIGHT CHARITY DAY CLASS 2 HCP – 1400M:

Apprentice jockey M. Kai replaced R. Kerwin as the rider of RINGER as there were no other available senior riders.

HANNIBAL AD PORTAS – Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with another runner.

RINGER – Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with another runner.

ZAPATA FALLS – Slow to begin and bumped by another runner shortly after the start.

LUNAR – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start.

D. McIntosh (Magic Glenyce) was fined $100 for weighing in more than half a kilogram overweight.
