DESEMAY (K Gates) and CRAIGLEA SMOKIE raced wide throughout.

TIDY TRIM (K Cross) was inclined to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 2: Mates at the Track QTIS Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st Goldslick 2nd Wrighty 3rd Vault Breaker 4th- Izachamp

The start of the race was delayed when DEVIL IN ME (T O’Hara) refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.03pm. Stewards ordered that deductions for 1st 2c Win and 3c Place, 2nd 6c Place, and 3rd 8c Place were to occur and the all monies invested on DEVIL IN ME were to be refunded.
Trainers L Gough was notified that DEVIL IN ME must pass a jumpout prior to its next start.

At the start IZACHAMP (G Goolds) has shifted in onto DEVIL’S BREW (K Gates) and at the same time LABASTIDA (S Sheargold) has shifted out resulting in DEVIL’S BREW being placed in restricted room.

Shortly after the start IZACHAMP was inclined to lay in onto DEVIL’S BREW.

Prior to correct weight, Jockey J Stephens (VAULT BREAKER) elected to view the available patrol film with the intention of lodging an objection against WRIGHTY (K Cross) placed second by the judge. After doing so, Jockey Stephens proceeded with an objection for alleged interference near the 900 metres and over the final 150m. Given consideration to the statements from riders, trainers and the observation of the patrol film, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference at the 900m was caused by WRIGHTY and also at the 150m stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that although contact was made by these runners, and while it was evident WRIGHTY had shifted wider at this point, stewards were of the opinion that this incident had not materially effected the placing of either runner. The objection was dismissed and correct weight declared on the judge's placings.

Approaching the 900m IZACHAMP has shifted in slightly and tightened DEVIL’S BREW which was in turn tightened both WRIGHTY and VAULT BREAKER.
App Goolds was given the benefit of the doubt but was reminded of his obligations to keep his mount straight and to relieve pressure to fellow riders when possible.

Stewards sought an explanation from Trainer N Boyle regarding the late declaration of a rider for LABASTIDA. Stewards accepted his explanation.

1st– Dual Echelon 2nd – Cane Champagne 3rd Craiglea Convict 4th- Measured

RED TSAR (I Coombes) and BOBERG (J Stephens) jumped awkwardly.

At approximately the 100m DUAL ECHELON (D Philpot) has shifted out across the heels of CANE CHAMPAGNE (K Gates) to obtain clear running.

Stewards questioned Jockey J Stephens regarding the performance of BOBERG. Jockey Stephens stated that his instructions were to have the mare in a handy position just off the speed. The mare began awkwardly which contributed to her racing back in the field. Stewards accepted Jockey Stephens explanation.

Race 4: Rainbow Street Butchery Class B Handicap - 1400 metres
1st Desperate Woman 2nd Jamdit 3rd Gypsy Storm 4th – Maleaton

NAIL ‘EM (N Patchett) and FLASH OF KINTYRE (S Sheargold) were both slow away.

Apprentice A Taylor was issued with a reprimand.

TARANTARA raced wide in the early and middle stages.

MALEATON (K Cross) was inclined to lay in up the home straight.

Stewards sought an explanation from Trainer R Hay regarding the late declaration of a rider for PIPELINER. Stewards accepted his explanation.

At approximately 1400m turn FORADE (A Taylor) which was racing ungenerously has shifted out abruptly causing TEDDY BEAR to have to steady off the heels of FORADE.

At approximately 1200m DASHING DOLL has bumped TEDDY BEAR which became unbalanced for a few strides.

At the 600m ZIGGY ZARIZ commenced to yield ground and finished tailed off, Jockey J Stephens reported that the gelding did not handle the 1600m.
