RACE 1 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES 8 STARTERS
At the start: BRANSON (M McDuff) jumped outwards and inconvenienced LOVE ABOVE (NZ) (G Cullen) No Incidents in running. FOATERS cast a hind plate during the race.
RACE 2 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES 10 STARTERS
BENICON (C Lennon) was difficult to load and hung throughout the race. At the start: POETIC BAY (F Edwards) jumped inwards inconveniencing NON FERROUS (P Cullen) who continued to hang out from the 700 to 350. In the straight TINSELTOWN LADY (S Hetherington) was held up for a run behind MISSY I AM (App M Guthrie). CHOSEN CALIBRE (GD Kliese) was inclined to race ungenerously and at the same time was hampered by REAL ILLUSION (W Kenning) who was inclined to hang in. Jockey S Hetherington was given permission to ride 1kg overweight as there was no other Jockey available to ride at the handicap weight.
RACE 3 CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 7 STARTERS
No incidents.
RACE 4 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 METRES 9 STARTERS
The start was delayed for approx 15min while the Ambulance attendants were attending to a patron.
FLIGHT TO BERMUDA (W Kenning) reared in the Stalls and got its foot over the front gate and as a consequence OUR MONOKEE (C Lennon) broke through the gates. This horse was pulled up by the rider, examined by the Club’s Veterinary Officer and passed fit to start. RESENT (G Watson) on jumping away, cannoned into the hindquarters of GOLD WHIZ(M McDuff)
RACE 5 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 8 STARTERS
No Incidents
RACE 6 CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1315 METRES 8 STARTERS
At the start: ORACLE (M McDuff) jumped outwards and bumped TALAQ SYMBOL (W Kenning), NEDEAL (G Watson) dwelt as the gates opened. Jockey S Hetherington was reprimanded for allowing his mount BROTHER’S MATE to shift in inconveniencing MAJESTIC COLOUR (P Cullen).
RACE 7 OPEN HANDICAP 1645 METRES 9 STARTERS
The starting time for the race was delayed while repairs were carried out to the broadcast system.The saddle on WHAT’S WANTED shifted forward rounding the 1400 metre turn which made it difficult for the rider – App M Guthrie – to get his mount to settle. SALTASH CASTLE (M McDuff) making the home turn, shifted out which inconvenienced MR. MAX (D Sewell).
All winners were sent to be swabbed.
