WEATHER - FINE TRACK - FAST


GENERAL:
Trainer G. Purdy was fined $100 for failing to lodge amended stable returns for AEROLITO and TWIN ISLAND (L.R.42(2)).

RACE 1: QTIS 3-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES: 13 STARTERS
Over the concluding stages BLEIGHSBOY laid in placing its rider, P. Cullen, at a disadvantage in fully testing his mount.

RACE 2: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES: 13 STARTERS
GIGABYTE MAIZ was a late withdrawal, at 12.20 p.m., by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice.
YALLAH BUTTERFLY (R. Bellert) began awkwardly and lost ground. R. Bellert reported that throughout the event YALLAH BUTTERFLY raced greenly.
Near the 800 metres EL'S DANCER (K. Mahoney) shifted in and contacted LITTLE AWESOME (P. Cullen). K. Mahoney was advised that he must show greater care in the future.
At approximately the 500 metres YALLAH BUTTERFLY (R. Bellert) shifted out and inconvenienced WEEKENDZOFF (A. Cox). R. Bellert was cautioned and advised to show more care in similar circumstances.
P. Cullen (LITTLE AWESOME) was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the winning post.

RACE 3: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1400 METRES: 15 STARTERS
Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of PLUMS, at 12.57 p.m., when the filly failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time. Stewards will question trainer O. Cullen in relation to the matter.
At approximately the 1000 metres SHINACOVA (A. Molino) knuckled and shifted out abruptly, taking AURELIUS MAXIMUS out sharply, in turn resulting in FATHER ROLY (C. Beets) being shifted out abruptly and causing C. Beets to become unbalanced. In the circumstances no further action was taken.

RACE 4: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES: 16 STARTERS
Trainer A. Jones was fined $50 for negligently declaring J. Stopps as the rider of FINAL STORM, when Jockey Stopps had not accepted the engagement (A.R. 175(k)).
AGAIN A GAIN slipped behind on leaving the barriers.
On jumping CHAR AZTEK (M. Bennett) and SILVER NATIVE (R. Bellert) came together.



RACE 5: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1960 METRES: 10 STARTERS
Trainer G. Hughes was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for MISREAL by the prescribed time (L.R. 70(1)).
RAFFUTE (A. Molino) began awkwardly.

RACE 6: OPEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES: 16 STARTERS
As the start was effected NEWSWORTHY (A. Merritt) jumped outwards and bumped PRINCE JACOB (W. Kenning).
Near the 600 metres SHODAMA (Apprentice L. Abbott) shifted out, taking NEWSWORTHY (A. Merritt) out and hampering HARLEY (D. Crossland).

RACE 7: OPEN HANDICAP - 1630 METRES: 13 STARTERS
At approximately the 350 metres MONO BLUE (C. Beets) was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

RACE 8: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1300 METRES: 14 STARTERS
Trainer M. Crouch was fined $50 for failing to declare D. Crossland as the rider of ACE CLUB by the prescribed time (L.R. 70(1)).
Approaching the 900 metres EXPLAIN (C. Beets) had to be steadied when MILLIEMAY overraced and was eased away from the heels of FRISK ME (M. Elliott).

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
