WEATHER – FINE TRACK:-GOOD RAIL –TRUE POSITION
RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1300 Metres
BILLY FRISCO (J Stopps) refused to jump with the field as the start was effected. Connections of the horse were advised that BILLY FRISCO is now bared until such time as it can successfully complete a successful Barrier Trial. Jockey R Hall the rider of SPEED REBEL accidentally dropped his whip at the 100 metre mark. LION DOWN (S Simon) laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
RACE 2: OPEN HANDICAP – 1630 Metres
No Incidents in running.
RACE 3: MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
EPONUS BONUS was a late scratching at 9:25 due to no suitable rider being available. HE’S WANTED (J Lewis) hung out for the entire journey of the event, this resulted in SOLOMEIO (S Simon), WINTER SAFARI (J Stopps) and STUIBAY (W Kenning) all being forced wide on the track at approximately the 650 metre mark. Stewards advised trainer G Sewell that HE’S WANTED is now barred and has to pass an official Barrier Trial.
RACE 4: CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
Jockey K Mahoney, the rider of EXALTER was severely admonished by the stewards and advised to show more care after he allowed his mount to shift outwards at the 250 metre mark which inconvenienced the running of POWDER PUFF GIRL (W Kenning). Stewards advised Jockey Mahoney that he should revisit his style of riding in future, that simular instances would not be tolerated by the stewards and the stewards would consider laying charges upon Jockey Mahoney.
RACE 5: CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1960 Metres
At approximately the 350 metre mark, PADDY’S SISTER (J Stopps) was hampered for racing room when EXPRESSO BAY (P Cullen) shifted inwards after shying from BETHEL (W Kenning).
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
