Stewards considered an objection lodged by P. Cullen, the rider of TAKE THE SHOT which finished second, against SEA ZULU (G. Kliese) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200 metres. After taking evidence from the parties involved and viewing the official video films, stewards dismissed the protest when they found that on several occasions after the 200 metres TAKE THE SHOT and SEA ZULU brushed as a result of both horses shifting ground and that at about the 50 metres SEA ZULU shifted out and bumped TAKE THE SHOT. However, in the opinion of the stewards had the interference not occurred TAKE THE SHOT would not have finished ahead of SEA ZULU.
On jumping TAKE THE SHOT (P. Cullen) was hampered when tightened for room between SEA ZULU (G. Kliese) and LORD JACOB (F. Edwards).

Kenning and M. Carson had viewed the film W. Kenning decided not to lodge an objection.
