Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer Mr R. Finch in relation to the late declaration of D Andrews as the rider of COUNTESS MONPEZAT.

Jockey J Felix pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under Ar. 137(a) in that as the rider of STAR TRUCE he permitted his mount to shift out after passing the winning post, contributing to the interference suffered to AWESOME HORSESOM (M Elliott) which was tightened for room and taken out, clipping the heels of CHARLIE’S MOMENT (P Cullen) and blundering, almost dislodging its rider.
Jockey Felix’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 NQ meeting commencing midnight 5 November 2013 and to expire at midnight 12 November 2013.

Jockey P Cullen was advised to exercise more care for permitting his mount to shift in marginally after passing the winning post contributing to the interference caused to AWESOME HORSESOM.

When the pace of the race eased near the 900m, RAY’S ROCKET (G Kliese) improved onto the heels of CITY CHAT (S Wilson) and was forced to ease.

CHARLIE’S MOMENT (P Cullen) was held up near the 500m and was forced to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running. CHARLIE”S MOMENT then had a tendency to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight resulting in the rider having to stop riding and straighten the gelding near the 100m.

A post-race Veterinary Inspection of COUNTESS MONPEZAT revealed the mare to have sustained a significant injury to the near hind tendon. Trainer R Finch was advised that he will be required to obtain a Veterinary clearance for COUNTESS MONPEZAT prior to it next racing.

TUPPENY’S OPINION raced wide for the majority of the event.

For a considerable distance passing the 900m, NAIL ‘EM over raced at the heels of OAKFIELD COUNT and near the 800m was checked to avoid that runners heels.

NAIL ‘EM laid in when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

A post-race Veterinary Inspection of OAKFIELD COUNT revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer B Snelling was advised that he will be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for OAKFIELD COUNT prior to it next racing.
