JUST A FRACTION (G. Watson) began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with MR HIFIELD (D. Simmons).
TOP KID (F. Edwards) was slow to begin.
ALPINE GOLD (C. Whiteley) began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with the barrier partition.
For some distance passing the 600 metres TOP KID raced keenly, shifted out and hampered WHAT’S UP SUN (G. Kliese).
Leaving the 100 metres JUST A FRACTION shifted out under pressure and bumped ZARIZMA (S. Wilson).
On returning to scale Jockey G. Kliese could offer no explanation for the poor performance of WHAT’S UP SUN, other than that the gelding raced keen early and when placed under pressure prior to straightening for home failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of WHAT’S UP SUN did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 3: - Get to Cluden Park This Saturday BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1300 metres
1st – VON SEBASTIAN 2nd – KINGS ROAD 3rd - ARCANUS 4th – DICHOTOMY
Stewards considered an objection lodged by the connections of ARCANUS (S. Wilson), which finished 3rd, against VON SEBASTIAN (App. J. Orman) being declared the winner, alleging interference passing the 1000 metres. After taking evidence from the parties involved, viewing the official patrol videos and acting on their own observations, stewards found that near the 1000 metres ALITTLEBITOF DUEY (T. Bannon) shifted in resulting in VON SEBASTIAN being taken in onto ARCANUS, which was tightened for room and had to be checked and was taken in onto ATHABASCA and became unbalanced. LIL’ RED MONKEY (J. Dickinson), which was following, was hampered in consequence and taken wider. As stewards could not be satisfied that App. Orman was the sole contributor to the interference, stewards dismissed the protest and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.
LIL’ RED MONKEY (J. Dickinson) and CARBINCONI (App. S. Wiseman) made contact at the start.
At the start ARCANUS (S. Wilson) was tightened for room between VON SEBASTIAN (App. J. Orman) and ATHABASCA (F. Edwards), both of which shifted ground.
STORM IN A RAINBOW (R. Thompson) was slow to begin.
Jockey T. Bannon pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 1000 metres she allowed ALITTLEBITOFDUEY to shift in when not completely clear of VON SEBASTIAN, which had to be checked and was carried in onto ARCANUS, which was tightened for room and also had to be checked and was carried inwards, making contact with the hindquarters of ATHABASCA. Jockey Bannon was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 2 NQ meetings, to commence at midnight on Tuesday 3rd June 2014, up to and including midnight on Sunday 8th June 2014. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Bannon’s plea of guilty and excellent record in respect of this rule.
Race 4: – Like Us On Facebook QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap – 1200 metres
1st – GREEN ANCHOR 2nd – FOUR JAYS 3rd – WISHFUL 4th – CHATEAU DETTORI
CHATEAU DETTORI (App. B. Swaffer) was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between and WATCH THE RED (App. S. Payne) and MARGINALIZE (T. Bannon), which shifted in.
MISHANI GLADIATOR (D. Missen) began awkwardly, resulting in Jockey Missen becoming unbalanced.
FOUR JAYS (R. Thompson) was a little slow to begin.
On returning to scale Jockey G. Kliese reported that GREEN ANCHOR was inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.
When questioned as to FOUR JAYS racing further back than has been its usual racing pattern, Jockey R. Thompson explained that after beginning only fairly he was able to take up a position worse than midfield close to the running rail, where the gelding travelled comfortably. Jockey Thompson added that at the gelding’s most recent start FOUR JAYS had a tendency to over-race and in his opinion the removal of blinkers from the horse’s approved gear enabled FOUR JAYS to settle and race more tractably.
Passing the 200 metres GREEN ANCHOR (G. Kliese) shifted out and momentarily inconvenienced WISHFUL (App. S. Wiseman).
Race 5: – Become a TTC Member Now Class 2 Handicap – 1000 metres

EVERYTHING’S SET (J. Felix) reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
BASHIGA (S. Wilson) began awkwardly with its head up.
MOLONGLE DASH (App. S. Payne) shifted out at the start and made contact with SHOTGUN BOOGIE (D. Simmons).
In the early part of the home straight ALEXANDER PARADE (App. B. Swaffer) was awkwardly placed on the heels of SHOTGUN BOOGIE and had to be shifted to that runner’s outside to improve.
Approaching the winning post DREAM ON DREAMER (App. B. Yadi) had to be checked when tightened for room between RATTLER’S LAD (P. Cullen) and RISE TO THE TOP, which was carried out by PICK AND RUN (F. Edwards) when that horse was inclined to shift out and away from ALEXANDER PARADE, which was awkwardly placed on the heels of FAMILY FREEZE (App. S. Wiseman). App. Swaffer was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Over the concluding stages BASHIGA (S. Wilson) had to be checked when awkwardly placed on the heels of AQUALITA (S. Pawsey).
When questioned about the performance of RISE TO THE TOP, App. Orman stated that after missing the start RISE TO THE TOP was able to assume a rearward position close to the running rail, where the gelding travelled comfortably. App. Orman said that shortly after straightening for home RISE TO THE TOP was held up for clear running and became awkwardly placed on heels and had to be continuously steadied.
DREAM ON DREAMER ( App. N. Yadi) raced wide throughout.
