Jockey S Shield was indisposed for today’s meeting and was replaced by C. Symons R 2, J Felix R 3, M Lister R 4, A Erhart R 5, C. Symons R 6, J. Felix R 7.
RACE 1: CONDAMINE RUN (C Symons) jump in the air and was slow into stride. SPOT THE GOLD (G Lynch) jumped awkwardly and was slow stride. SOBER POET (L. Roberts) jumped outward hampering PADDY DAPPER (S Katsidis) which in turn hampered SPOT THE GOLD. Rounding the home turn PADDY DAPPER was held up for a run behind TIBROGARGAN (G Whybrow). Jockey this Katsidis was cautioned when he permitted his mount to shift outward approaching the 150m inconveniencing PROUD ASCOT (P Gesler) which in turn hampered MR. MORNINGTON (R Barone) and SPOT THE GOLD. Routine swab of the winner BOLDON. Time off 4.17 pm.
RACE 2: EULALIE LANE (App.T Hill) jumped awkwardly. WHO’S CRYING NOW (C Symons) was slow into stride. EXPRESS FAITH (S Katsidis) jumped awkwardly. EUCHRE LADY (R Barone) jumped outwards striking the outside gate. Shortly after the start MILE WONDER (G Whybrow) shifted outward coming in contact with FORTNIGHT (L. Karklis). EUCHRE LADY raced greenly rounding the home turn shifting outward. Routine swab of the winner IMSHI. Time off 4.57 p.m.
RACE 3: JOYFUL PRINCE (K. Waller) jump awkwardly. MAGADI (A Gillett) was slowed into stride. RISING BREEZE (G Whybrow) was slow into stride. At approx the 600m VIANTEA (G. Geran) rolled inward hampering BONNIE SAL (R Goltz). Approaching the 150m there was heavy contact made when MYFERNO (J Felix) rolled outward at the same time ROCKLEA ROCKET (D Green) had shifted inward resulting in the latter becoming unbalanced and continued to shift inward inconveniencing MYFERNO and BONNIE SAL, all riders advised to exercise more care. Over the concluding stages of the race MAGADI shifted inward under pressure momentarily dictating to ROCKLEA ROCKET. On returning to scale it was found PLEASANT SPIRIT had bled from both nostrils for the second time connections were advised of the life ban. MONEY was also found to have bled from both nostrils, connections were advised of the 3 months ban. Routine swab of the winner VIANTEA. Time off 5.37pm.
RACE 4: BRILLIANT SPY (R Barone) jumped awkwardly. NOVA SERRURE (S Katsidis) jumped inward coming in contact with LE PORTE (J Felix). Approaching the 1000m SAMDON STREET (A Parramore) shifted inward abruptly clipping the heels of BRILLIANT SPY causing the latter to flounder, Jockey Parramore was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. BRILLIANT SPY returned to scale with a laceration to the near hind leg. LE PORTE (J Felix) was held up for a run rounding the home turn behind PRIDE’N’PASSION (A Erhart). Routine swab of the winner NOVA SERRURE. Time off 6.17pm.
RACE 5: TRENDY GUY (App C Maund) and FAVOUR THE BRAVE (J Felix) were both slow into stride. WHISTLING DANCER (S Killen) jumped awkwardly. ALANOR BEAU (D GREEN) jumped awkwardly inward coming in contact with TREASURE THE KWILA (R Goltz). TITTLE TAT (R Barone) rolled outward at approx 800m coming in contact with MACHTIG MIHI PANIS (L Deguara), then shifted outward at approx 500m making contact with EXTRINSIC (M Lister), attention trainer. Approaching the 550m ALANOR BEAU rolled inward hampering SHOWDOWN LAD (G Lynch). Routine swab of the winner MACHTIG MIHI PANIS. Time off 6.55pm.
RACE 6: JUST SMOKIN’ (G Whybrow) jumped outward and continued outward causing general tightening to FRANKLIN FAIR (J Felix), CAMELOT (S Killen), and TEMPTING TOUCH (M Lister). RISING CURRENCY (D Green) jumped inward. At approx the 400 FRANKLIN FAIR rolled outward hampering RISING CURRENCY and SHOUT WITH PRIDE (G Geran). Routine swab of the winner TAKE THAT. Time off 7.35pm.
RACE 7: Both RED HEAVY (S Killen) and VACEN LEE (G Whybrow) raced fiercely during the early stages of the race. At approx the 850m VACEN LEE rolled inward hampering HAND GRENADE (C Symons). Routine swab of the winner GORGEOUS GEORGE. Time off 8.15pm.
