Weather: Fine Track: Dead Rail: out 4m 800m to the 500, 7m 500 to the 800.

Race 1: Big Geoffrey (L Morrison) jumped awkwardly in the air and was slow into stride. Wendy’s Hope (J Walk) was fractious in the barrier. Approaching the 800m Big Geoffrey rolled inward having to be eased off the heels of Wendy’s Hope. Devil’s Lair (G Lynch) at approximately the 800m got its head up in the air when being eased. On returning to scale it was found that the saddle (Big Geoffrey) had slipped back at the jump, giving the apprentice a difficult ride throughout. Time Off: 4:02pm

Race 2: Forest Sprite (M Dorrington) was fractious in the barrier, jumped inward making contact with Avan Ranch (G Lynch), and was slow into stride. Navarra Lingo (A Lane) and Eureka Flight (S Shield) where both slow into stride. Approaching the 800m Turf Ace (H Akiyama) rolled inward hampering Pan Zareta (A Parramore). Approaching the 700m Pan Zareta rolled inward making contact with Eureka Flight which in turn brushed the inside rail. Lounge Suite (C Maund) was inclined to hang inward rounding the home turn. On returning to scale Stewards ordered a veterinary examination of Forest Sprite, which found no abnormalities. Turf Ace returned to scale with blood in one nostril, attention trainer. Time Off: 4:42pm

Race 3: Nathan Citadel (P Gesler) was restless in the barrier. Joyful Prince (M Gray) jumped in the air and was slow into stride. Scalatrice (M Allan) was fractious in the barrier. Approaching the 800m The Prince (A Lane) rolled outward, at the same time Heroic Duty (B Swanton) shifted inward causing Joanna’s Scent (G Lynch) to be steadied off the heels of The Prince, no action taken, all riders were advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 600m Phasing (C Spry) rolled inward crowding Paltrow (H Akiyama). Time Off: 5:12pm

Race 4: Ignassi (G Lynch) was reluctant to load, warning. Grisma (S Shield) was restless in the barrier. Holstarr (M Gray) jumped inward making contact with Ignassi. Approaching the 850m Moonlighter (A Parramore) rolled inward crowding The Advy (B Swanton). Approaching the 800m The Advy rolled inward hampering Mr. Dickens (J Walk) and Grisma (S Shield), then The Advy shifted back outward causing the Moonlighter to be steadied which clipped its heels and dipped. No action taken Jockey Swanton was advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 750m Moonlighter rolled inward making contact with Grisma (S Shield). Approaching the 500m Ignassi rolled inward crowding Mr. Dickens (J Walk). On returning to scale it was found The Advy had been stripped behind and under went a veterinary examination which found the mare to be lame in the off/hind. Time Off: 5:45pm

Race 5: Jockey P Payet dismounted (Eselkay) to load. Talbingo Lad (G Lynch) was slow into stride. Eselkay jumped outward at the same time Helen’s Honey (P Wolfgram) jumped inward inconveniencing Flying Taan (A Gould). Approaching the 900m Helen’s Honey (P Wolfgram) whilst laying inward crowded Flying Taan which had to be steadied, warning. Approaching the 800m Helen’s Honey (P Wolfgram) shifted inward crowding Talbingo Lad (G Lynch) which had to be steadied, over reacted and lost ground. Jockey Wolfgram was given the benefit of the doubt and was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice C Spry (Black Top) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, when his mount shifted inward, approaching the 250m mark when insufficiently clear of Model Material (C Maund) which had to checked inward making contact with Nonediym Noodles (B Swanton) resulting in the latter being inconvenienced. Apprentice C Spry was suspended from riding in races from midnight the 10th March 2001 up to and including the 18th March 2001. (6 meetings). Time Off: 6:17pm

Race 6: Apprentice N Evans was replaced by Apprentice R Kerwin (Upraw), when he failed to arrive on corse after being held up after riding at another venue. App.R Kerwin was dislodge on the way to the barrier, her mount Upraw was recaptured, under went a veterinary examination and was declared fit to race. Serrated (D Green) jumped inward crowding Brophy (J Warrington) and Upraw (R Kerwin) which were both slow into stride. Ocean Boy (M Gray) was inclined to race fiercely in the early and middle stages of the race. Approaching the 400m Brophy had to be eased off the heels of Hivite (J Late) as the latter was losing ground. On returning to scale stewards ordered a veterinary inspection of Wirradilla (A Parramore) which found that the filly had received a laceration to the off /fore knee during running, attention trainer, no further action. Time Off: 6:55pm

Race 7: Half Flush (M Gray) jumped awkwardly outward brushing Seandra Seeca (D Green) which continued outward at the same time Go Suzanna (M Allan) jumped inward and continued inward crowding Splendid Baby (D Hutchins), Coral Isle (A Parramore) and Dippermouth (M Dorrington) with the latter getting its head in the air, shifting inward causing Coral Isle to be steadied, which inturn caused Splendid Baby to be eased. Apprentice M Allan was given the benefit of the doubt, as her mount was the main contributing factor to the incident, M Allen was reprimanded her for allowing her mount to shift inward when insufficiently clear. No further action. On returning to scale it was found that Bronze Hula (R Goltz) had received a laceration to the off/hind. On Returning to scale Crown Star (C Spry) was found to have cast the off/fore plate during the running. Time Off: 7:45pm
