REPLACEMENTS

K Purdy (BONARBRIDGE) replaced A Baker who was indisposed.

A number of trainers had difficulty obtaining a rider in race 1 & 2.

RACE 1: SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1106M.

SUERAY, which was slowly away, got its head up whilst hanging out rounding the 800m turn.

MANTARA LAD, which was held up for clear running from the 550m until leaving the 400m, was eased when disappointed for a run to the inside of IN SYNC near the 150m. Shortly after MANTARA LAD when shifting out, was checked when tightened for room by LIMBER ON (C Spry), which shifted in. C Spry was advised of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

Time off 3.54 pm.

RACE 2: SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1106M.

Stewards granted permission to trainer R Maund to withdraw LE JESTER at 11.20 am when he was unable to confirm a rider for the gelding.

IT’S ONLY TIME, which was difficult to load, is required to pass a barrier Jumpout to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

COURT DANCING, which jumped awkwardly, raced greenly throughout.

At the start SUPER FRIEND was hampered between BYAMBEE, which jumped out and IT’S ONLY TIME, which jumped in.

CYCLONE MIKE, which was slowly away, was steadied shortly after from the heels of DREAMIN’ AGAIN.

Shortly after the start SHOW BIZ KID shifted out making heavy contact with DREAMIN’ AGAIN. SHOW BIZ KID raced greenly throughout.

Approaching the 700m REGAL SIREN shifted out making contact with SHOW BIZ KID.

Near the 400m JOEKEN was steadied when crowded for room between SHOW BIZ KID and BANDIT ROCKS, which shifted out.

DREAMIN’ AGAIN raced wide throughout.

Time off 4.37 pm.

RACE 3: RYDGES SOUTH BANK CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1106M.

FAIRYMAN jumped in and across the running of CAPRICIOUS RIVER, which was slowly away.

At the start MAGIC OF MACKAY, which jumped in the air and SIR WINTERWOOD, were severely hampered by GOLD ‘N’ BLUE, which jumped out.

RIVIERA TREASURE knuckled shortly after the start.

Stewards questioned N Evans (RIVIERA TREASURE) in relation to why he elected to switch to the outside of COLOUR ME SPECIAL and FAIRYMAN in the home straight when there appeared to be a run to the inside of COLOUR ME SPECIAL. After taking evidence from N Evans, stewards were of the opinion he had taken the wrong option to shift to the outside. Jockey N Evans was given the benefit of the doubt and was reprimanded.

Time off 5.07 pm.

RACE 4: LEN PATTI MOTORS CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1207M.

N Evans (KEWPIE DOLL) replaced P Spry who failed to arrive on course by the required time. Stewards subsequently accepted the explanation of P Spry.

TONTORE was slowly away.

KEWPIE DOLL and PISANI BAY dwelt at the start.

THE APACHE KID jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 250m TRULY BRAVE was momentarily held up for clear running.

Approaching the 100m PISANI BAY was eased when taken in by FRENCH MOVIE STAR (D Tanti). D Tanti was reminded of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

Leaving the 200m THE APACHE KID was held up for clear running.

Approaching the 100m FARISIKNOW shifted in whilst lying in.


A veterinary examination of SWEET CHILLI, which raced disappointingly failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 5.47 pm.

RACE 5: MARRIOTT GOLD COAST RESORT CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1510M.

A Parramore (NO MATTER WHAT) replaced G Lynch who had transport problems whilst coming from the Gold Coast meeting.

Leaving the 1000m BACK TO SCRATCH was eased from the heels of ORBITING STAR, which got its head up whilst being eased from the heels of BONNECAY as the pace slowed.

Approaching the 100m ELUSIVE DIAMOND shifted in making contact with PRINCE OF DENMARK.

Near the 50m BACK TO SCRATCH was steadied from the heels of ELUSIVE DIAMOND, which was taken out by PRINCE OF DENMARK.

ORBITING STAR hung out throughout.

Time off 6.25 pm.

RACE 6: LEN PATTI MOTORS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1207M.

LUSKIN GOLD, which refused to leave the barrier, took no part in the event. Trainer S Smith was advised that LUSKIN GOLD is required to pass a series of barrier trials to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to start again.

At the start CHERRY LIPS jumped in making heavy contact with JUST SCRUMPTIOUS, which then made contact with RED D‘OR.

At the start INTREPID PATH jumped out making contact with LUCKY EYES.

ZED STAR was slowly away.

Leaving the 500m RED D’OR was steadied from the heels of WOLF WALKING.

Leaving the 200m CHERRY LIPS was steadied when crowded for room by RED D’OR, which was taken in by INTREPID PATH (G Geran). G Geran was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Leaving the 250m JUST SCRUMPTIOUS was held up for clear running.

Jockey N Evans (JUST SCRUMPTIOUS) was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that near the 150m he permitted his mount to shift out taking ZED STAR out and onto the heels of SOUL SURFER, resulting in ZED STAR being checked. N Evans was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings to take affect as of mid – night 20-07-02 and to expire at mid – night on 2-08-02.

Time off 7.05 pm.

RACE 7: MARRIOTT GOLD COAST RESORT MAIDEN H'CAP – 1207M.

HEAVY DEW, which was fractious, reared as the gates opened losing considerable ground.

At the start CLASHER and HENRY THE OCTOPUS both jumped out.

Approaching the 800m PAY OFF got its head up whilst being eased from the heels of OUTBACK OPUS.

Time off 7.38 pm.
