TOOWOOMBA TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 5th NOVEMBER 2002

STEWARDS PANEL: S Rowe (Chairman), J Childs, D Wann, V Mayne


WEATHER – FINE. TRACK – GOOD. RAIL – 6M 1600M – 400M. 7M 400M – 1600M.

REPLACEMENTS

P Moodie (TIMEO) replaced J Sharp who was indisposed.

J Warrington (BLAZING SHARI) replaced C Eaton.

RACE 1: CROWN LAGER CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1219M.

FLASHING JACK was slowly away.

EUREKA STORM jumped out.

Leaving the 900m FLASHING JACK was tightened onto the running rail by EUREKA STORM, which was taken in by NEED T’SEE (N Evans). EUREKA STORM then laid on FLASHING JACK for some distance. N Evans was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Near the 100m EUREKA STORM shifted in making contact with FLASHING JACK.

Shortly after FLASHING JACK shifted in making contact with FIERY ASPECT.

Time off 1.15 pm.

RACE 2: NEIL MACGINLEY MEMORIAL CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1888M.

At the start LUCKY TRADER was hampered by WAITAWHERO GOLD, which jumped in.

LUCKY TRADER, which was racing keenly, got its head up leaving the home straight on the first occasion, approaching the 1200m and leaving the 1200m whilst being eased from heels.

MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

Time off 2.31 pm.




RACE 3: CARLTON DRAUGHT MAIDEN H'CAP - 1630M.

BLAZING SHARI jumped with its head in the air.

Leaving the 200m FEZ NOVA was tightened for room between OUR PARTY LIGHT and MIGHTY PHUN, which shifted in whilst hanging in. MIGHTY PHUN then hung in for the remainder of the race. Trainer R Stephenson was advised that a warning was being placed on MIGHTY PHUN.

FEZ NOVA then shifted in tightening the running of OUR PARTY LIGHT, which made contact with the running rail.

Approaching the finish LEFT AT THE ALTAR was steadied from the heels of FEZ NOVA.

Time off 3.12 pm.

RACE 4: J J RICHARDS & SONS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1320M.

M Brosnan was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for DANCING SOUND by the required time.

PRINCE ZAPPER jumped awkwardly.

FOLLOW THE MAESTRO raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

FOLLOW THE MAESTRO, which was held up for clear running from leaving the 400m, shifted out approaching the 200m coming into contact with DO AS I SAY.

Approaching the finish DO AS I SAY was steadied from the heels of FOLLOW THE MAESTRO, which shifted out.

Time off 3.45 pm.

RACE 5: MASGOLD LABOUR HIRE CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1219M.

KOMKYN TRUDA and FOREVER SNIPPED made contact on jumping.

SAIL THE WIND jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 850m BANYULA BRAVE brushed the running rail when it improved to the inside of the heels of KOMYKYN TRUDA where there was insufficient room.

SAIL THE WIND, which was following got its head up whilst being eased.

Approaching the 200m FOREVER SNIPPED was eased when crowding for room between SAIL THE WIND, which shifted out and MANREGO, which shifted in.

Time off 4.24 pm.



RACE 6: MECURE HOTEL MAIDEN H'CAP – 1119M.

Trainer R Hawkswell advised stewards that he intended to instruct rider S Apthorpe not to hit KINGS’BISHOP behind the girth as the gelding resents being ridden that way.

CLEVERNESS, CLEAR THE AIR and HIS REFLECTION were slowly away.

ROLLING ALONG, which jumped out across the running of JAMMARGEO, made contact with GAELIC PRINCE.

ROLLING ALONG raced greenly throughout.



Time off 5.00 pm.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
