RACE 1: FRIDAY RACES SEPT. 26 CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1116M.

On returning to scale Jockey R Tilley (ZEPHYR MAN) rider of the 2nd placegetter lodged an objection against LE JESTER (G Lynch) being declared the winner for alleged interference on the home turn and over the concluding stages, after taking evidence from riders, connections and viewing the patrol film, stewards upheld the objection as they were of the opinion that the interference on the home turn had cost ZEPHYR MAN more than the margin he had been beaten. Stewards advised R Tilley that they did not believe there was a full run for his mount over the concluding stages. Stewards amended the placing’s to, 1st ZEPHYR MAN, 2nd LE JESTER, 3rd JUST ROBBERY, 4th NEAGATIVE CARRY, 5th KNOW NOW.

Mr Currie also stated that the only excuse that he could give for the run last week is the rider rode FIERY ASPECT in a very small saddle with very little packing, which may have affected the horse as he has a high wither.
