RACE 1:JIM MCCONACHY MEMORIAL CLASS 5 H'CAP – 900M.

BILLY BUNGAH was slowly away.

PERSIAN CHARM blundered on jumping away.

PARALO jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 800m AVON WALTZ and PERSIAN CHARM made contact.

Shortly after PERSIAN CHARM was eased from the heels of MOWGREEN, which shifted out.

Near the 750m IRELAND HOME appeared to jump a shadow on the track.

Time off 3.53 PM.

RACE 2: SOUTH STATE FUEL 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1110M.

WISHING WIND jumped away awkwardly.

At the start KUTUZOV, PINDAROS and MINDINAO DEEP were tightened for room between LES COULEURS, which jumped in, and VIVA SEQUALO, which jumped out.

KUTUZOV was then buffeted for some distance between VIVA SEQUALO and PINDAROS resulting in KUTUZOV losing ground.

Near the 550m MINDINAO DEEP was eased from the heels of VIVA SEQUALO, which was eased from the heels of MISS HOEY MOEY, which hung out onto the heels of PINDAROS.

KUTUZOV, which was following MINDINAO DEEP, was obliged to shift out abruptly to avoid that horse’s heels.

Near the 300m MINDINAO DEEP was eased from heels.

VIVA SEQUALO, which was hanging in, in the home straight, was steadied over the final stages when cramped for room between LES COULEURS and HOODOO VOODOO which shifted in.

When questioned about the improved performance of HOODOO VOODOO, Jockey L Roberts stated that his trackwork was only fair leading up to his previous run. L Roberts also stated that HOODOO VOODOO had improved in his trackwork since his previous run, which was his first run after a spell. Trainer R Lowe stated that he was very disappointed with his run at Dalby and stable support for him today was minimal. R Lowe also stated that HOODOO VOODOO had improved in his trackwork since his last run and there is the possibility that HOODOO VOODOO did not handle the Dalby track, explanations noted.

RACE 3: QTIS 2-Y-O MAIDEN H’CAP - 1210M.

Y. Yamazaki (RED CLANG) replaced D Gay who was stood down after riding at the Caloundra meeting.

At the start YOUR LION EYES, PROTEST VOTE, LADY LONGUEVILLE and AL’S ANGLE were crowded for room between ALTHALIA, which jumped out and RED CLANG, which jumped awkwardly and in.

Shortly after RED CLANG was taken out by AL’S ANGLE.

MARKET LOVE was slowly away.

MY NAME IS LUKA lost ground when it jumped in the air as the gates opened.

Near the 1100m PROTEST VOTE appeared to jump a shadow on the track.

Near the 850m OUR MARINA was eased from the heels of SHEZAWRAN.

MY NAME IS LUKA was held up for clear running from the 500m until the 300m.
RED CLANG raced wide in the early and middle stages.

A veterinary examination of RED CLANG which tired quickly, failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 5.15 PM.

RACE 4:GED COSGROVE MEMORIAL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1310M.

S. Richardson (HIGHBURY LASS) replaced R McMahon who had commitments at the Caloundra meeting.

MISTER SUCCESS was slowly away.

Near the 250m PICWORTH was steadied when DESTINY MAGIC shifted in.

Near the 250m EBONY TOUCH shifted out and made contact with GUN GLORY.

Approaching the 100m INVERLEIGH LAD shifted out and made contact with DOONAN DANCER.

I’M A CRACKER was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

PICWORTH pulled hard in the early and middles stages.

EBONY TOUCH and HIGHBURY LASS raced wide throughout.

Time off 5.55 PM.

RACE 5:QRSE CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1869M.

S. Killen (MOOKFREUX) replaced L. Roberts who was stood down on medical advice after riding in race 2.

LAWSON HILL lost ground when it jumped away awkwardly.

FASCINATIONS blundered making the 1400m crossing.

Near the 1300m LAWSON HILL lost ground when it clipped the heels of REALE D’OR, which was taken in by TELTREE (Y Yamazaki). Y Yamazaki was severely reprimanded and advised that if the film footage was more conclusive he may have been facing a more severe charge. Stewards also noted that at the time of the incident REALE D’OR was pulling extremely hard and may have had some input into the incident.

Near the 250m MOOKFREUX was checked from the heels of HOT FOOTING, which was taken out marginally by TOP RANGE.

GAELIC PRINCE, which was racing to the outside of MOOKFREUX was steadied in the incident when cramped for room.

When questioned why SEGURA was ridden forward, Apprentice Z Landry stated that she was instructed to ride the gelding in behind the pace but once she gave the gelding a push along to take a forward position he over – raced and hung out from the 1600m, explanation noted. Trainer M Webb was advised that stewards are placing a warning on SEGURA for hanging out.

A veterinary examination on NORTHERN HEIGHTS, which finished a distant, last, failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 6.30 PM.

RACE 6: BOU SAMRA’S FRUIT & VEGH FILLIES & MARES H'CAP – 1310M.

I’M A SHOWGIRL was slowly away.

EMMY WINNER lost ground when it jumped in the air as the gates opened.

A veterinary examination of TOUS LES NEUFS, which tired over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any abnormality.

A veterinary examination of HONEST MOMENT, which finished a distant last failed to reveal any abnormality.

Time off 7.08 PM.

RACE 7: ORCHY FRUIT JUICE COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1310M.

K. Banks (ROLLING DESTINY) replaced L. Roberts.

DOUBLE DECKER and TURNIP were slowly away.

TANNER knuckled on jumping away.

Shortly after the start ROLLING DESTINY was eased when crowded for room between TANNER, which shifted out and STOOD UP.

Leaving the 950m SUR LE BLOND, which was over – racing got its head up whilst being eased from heels.

Near the 900m TURNIP was eased from the heels of SUR LE BLOND

Near the 900m STOOD UP took ROBBIE REDGUM in.

Approaching the 800m CALCUTTA was steadied from the heels of TANNER (B Swanton), which shifted in.

Shortly after CALCUTTA was crowded for room by CAUSAL (C Gilby), which shifted in. B Swanton and C Gilby were reminded of their obligations when their mounts are shifting ground.

Leaving the 800m SUR LE BLOND was eased from the heels of MISTER AJAX, which rolled in.

TANNER lost the near fore plate during running.

Time off 7.42 PM.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.

10/05/04: Trainer C Castles reported that RAJAH RAUTAI sustained lacerations to the near fore leg during the running of the 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap at the Clifford Park meeting on the 8th May 2004.
