I LIKE THE MUSIC was withdrawn on veterinary advice at 3.36 pm. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 8 cents in the $1win and 9 cents in the $1 place. I LIKE THE MUSIC is required to undergo a Veterinary examination at its next start.
THORPE was slowly away.

COEMPTION was slowly away.
OUR TOP BID and THE FIVE MILE made contact on jumping away.
Leaving the 950m THORPE (B Appo) shifted in placing OUR TOP BID in restricted room. OUR TOP BID continued to race in restricted room until being tightened out of its position near the 850m when THORPE shifted in further whilst pulling fiercely. THORPE continued to pull fiercely for some distance. B Appo was reprimanded for placing OUR TOP BID in restricted room.
Near the 750m NEARCO’S GENIUS was eased from the heels of COEMPTION (G Lynch). G Lynch was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

RACE 2: QTIS 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1119M.
Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer B Squair why the rider for KINGSTON QUEEN was not declared by the required time.
At the start SPECIAL ECLIPSE was hampered between ORPENELLA, which jumped in and LA PIC, which jumped out.
BAGHDAD BARBIE jumped out coming into contact with RETENTION.
KALINGA MATT jumped out coming into heavy contact with KINGSTON QUEEN.
Approaching the 850m CAPTAIN ALEX was steadied when tightened for room by KALINGA MATT, which was lying in and away from KINGSTON QUEEN.
Near the 550m KALINGA MATT shifted out taking KINGSTON QUEEN wider on the track.
Near the 350m BAGHDAD BARBIE made contact with the running rail when tightened for room by SPECIAL ECLIPSE, which was taken in by KALINGA MATT (J McKinnon). J McKinnon was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
KALINGA MATT shifted out rounding the home turn forcing KINGSTON QUEEN and LA PIC wider on the track.
Approaching the 250m KINGSTON QUEEN was taken out by KALINGA MATT, which shifted out under pressure.
Approaching the 100m BAGHDAD BARBIE was momentarily held up for clear running.

RACE 3: CRACKER PRINT & PAPER PREMIERSHIP CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1119M.
In the racebook M Crawford was shown as the rider of MOOKTA MAN instead of B Appo.
SOUL SURFER jumped out coming into contact with MOOKTA MAN.
Approaching the 950m CUT IT OUT and HELEN’S BROTHER were crowded for room by STUCK FAST, which shifted in whilst lying in.
Leaving the 800m HELEN’S BROTHER was crowded for room by JERASH, which shifted in.
RABBUNI, which hung out in the early and middle stages, was eased from the heels of AVON WALTZ approaching the 750m.
Near the 350m GUNNISON ISLAND was tightened for room by STUCK FAST, which shifted in whilst hanging in.
CIT IT OUT shifted out rounding the home turn forcing WARWICK DANCER and RABBUNI wider on the track.
STUCK FAST hung in throughout.
B Appo (MOOKTA MAN) dropped his whip near the 100m.
Time off 4.55 PM.
RACE 4: QRSE CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1219M.
FORCEFUL LAD lost ground when it jumped in the air as the gates opened.
AMBER TRAIL and SPECIAL EFFORTS were slowly away.
FREE AS AIR jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 800m ALTAO and MERLE’S BOY were tightened for room by RED OAKS. Leaving the 800m ALTAO and MERLE’S BOY were tightened for room by RED OAKS (J Warrington), which shifted in. In this incident, ALTAO made contact with the running rail. J Warrington was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
J Warrington (RED OAKS) dropped his whip near the 100m.
A Veterinary examination of MERLE’S BOY, which performed disappointingly, failed to reveal any apparent abnormality. Due to the disappointing performance, Stewards advised Trainer J Nightingale that a Veterinary clearance is required for MERLE’S BOY prior to its next start.
Time off 5.30 PM.
RACE 5: HIGGINS THOROUGHBRED TRANSPORT H'CAP – 1630M.
GRANDE ARROW, which was very slowly away, raced wide in the early and middle stages.
JUST GUS was slowly away.
Near the 350m REGAL GARTER was eased when tightened for room by MAKIN’ TRACKS, which was taken in by SUNDAE JESTER (S Drake). S Drake was advised of her obligations when her mount is shifting ground.
TALBINGO LAD shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
A Gain (GRANDE ARROW) dropped his whip leaving the 500m.
Time off 6.10 PM.
RACE 6: CLIFFORD PARK HOUSE WINES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1630M.
G Lynch was stood down on medical advice after riding in race 4. Due to G Lynch being unable to fulfil his engagement on HARD TO FORGET, Trainer D Strong made an application to stewards to withdraw HARD TO FORGET as he was of the opinion that the riders that are available will not suit the horse. Stewards agreed to the request of Trainer D Strong and the horse was withdrawn at 6.27 pm. Deductions on all win bets above the line were paid less 16 cents in the $1 win and 14 cents in the $1 place.
BETTER LIGHT jumped away awkwardly.
MARAVEDI was slowly away.
Leaving the 1300m as the pace steadied, MAGIC GOLD and CANA BOY pulled hard for some distance.
Leaving the 400m EROICA SINGER was momentarily crowded for room by ELTERWATER, which rolled in. CANA BOY, which was following was steadied.
DOONAN DANCER, which had blood in both nostrils after returning to the tie up stalls, is stood down from racing for a period of 3 months.
Time off 6.45 PM.
RACE 7: SOUTH STATE FUELS 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1630M
Approaching the 1500m MOCKERY was steadied when crowded for room by THE PROMS, which shifted in.
Near the 400m MISS CONDAMINE and KRISTATOS made heavy contact.
Near the 300m MOCKERY was steadied from the heels of THE PROMS, which shifted around the heels of ELDAD.
MOCKERY laid out throughout.
Time off 7.27 PM.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.

Stewards completed an inquiry into the running and handling of Silent Thought during Race 6 the Ken Temple Building Class 1 Hcp of 1018mts at the Toowoomba Turf Club on the 26 June 2004.
Jockey P Moodie was charge under the terms of ARR 135 (b) & (c) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures by restraining his mount throughout the race giving it no opportunity to win or finish in the possible place in the field.
After being found guilty Jockey P Moodie was suspended for a period of 6 weeks from midnight 3 July 2004 up to and including 14 August 2004. Jockey P Moodie was advised of his right of appeal.
No action taken against Trainer N Petersen.
