Near the 800m STOMPEY SEPOY was forced wider on the track by TUSMANI STAR, which was taken out by BADA BING, which shifted out to avoid the heels of PICAFIGHT (G Geran) as the slowed. G Geran was reprimanded for slowing the pace too quickly.

HULA NATIVE continued to race tight to the outside of MERLE’S BOY until near the 950m, where L Roberts relinquished his position. At a subsequent inquiry, C Gilby was given the benefit of a very grave doubt, when considering the penalty Stewards took into account the evidence from both riders and that HULA NATIVE had given Jockey R Goltz a very difficult ride the previous week by hanging in.

Near the 850m HEART OF LIGHT was steadied as BRAVE GENTLEMAN (R Pittman) shifted in. R Pittman was reminded of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

Leaving the 850m HEART OF LIGHT and TOP PLUME made contact.

RACE 5: CRACKER PRINT & PAPER PTY LTD CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1630M.

On returning to scale R Goltz the rider of second placed ENCOUNTRESS lodged an objection against CEANMOHR (J Sharp) being declared the winner for alleged interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from riders, connections and viewing of the patrol film, Stewards dismissed the objection as they were of the opinion that when contact was made, CEANMOHR did shift out and ENCOUNTRESS, which had shifted in from approaching the 100m was still shifting in when the contact occurred.

GOLDEN TARAC jumped away awkwardly.

MARAVEDI was slowly away.

Approaching the 400m CAIMBEAL became unbalanced and lost ground when buffeted between ENCOUNTRESS and RIP ‘N’ BEAUTY, which shifted out to obtain clear running.

MISSING IN ACTION returned to scale bleeding from the near side nostril. MISSING IN ACTION was kept under observation for some time to observe if blood did appear in the off nostril, as there was no appearance of blood in the off nostril the gelding was not declared a bleeder.

Time off 7.05 PM.

RACE 7: GLENN LYNCH CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1119M.

N Tomizawa (PICWORTH) and K Yoshida (DRIVES ME CRAZY) were both dislodged on the way to the barriers. N Tomizawa and K Yoshida were not injured in the incident.

J Warrington was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

Approaching the 600m QUIPPER (J Sharp), which was over-racing shifted out abruptly whilst being eased away from the heels of DANCE CAFÉ, resulting in GILDED BIRD and CARINA DONNA being forced wider on the track. KAVORT, which was racing to the outside of CARINA DONNA, clipped that horse’s heels and blundered. Stewards did not hold any rider at fault as QUIPPER over reacted whilst being eased from heels.
