SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

27/11/04: Connections reported that CHRISENDOM, which raced disappointingly at the Toowoomba meeting on 18/12/04, has been diagnosed with having a soft palate. Connections further advised that on the recommendation of the Veterinary Surgeon they intend to experiment with the use of a tongue-tie on the gelding.

RACE 1: LEN PATTI MOTORS / CROWN LAGER MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M.

MYSTERY GUEST was slowly away.

MABEL DOWNS jumped in and across the running of LUKE TOMAHAWK, which was slowly away.

CONCLAVE jumped away awkwardly.

MODERN RED was slowly away.

LITTLE DIMPLE, which was slowly away, was reluctant to hold its position between horses in the early stages.

Leaving the 1200m JOALING was steadied when cramped for room between LUKE TOMAHAWK and MABEL DOWNS.

Leaving the 950m MYSTERY GUEST raced ungenerously whilst being eased from heels.

MODERN RED was eased from heels over the concluding stages.

MYSTERY GUEST raced wide from the 800m.

CONCLAVE raced wide throughout.

Time off 12.40 PM.

RACE 2: ALQUIP / COUGAR BOURBON CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600M.

The track was upgraded from dead to good at 12.45 pm.

MR BOBCAT jumped out coming into heavy contact with MY MARMALADE.

THE MONARCH LANCE jumped out coming into heavy contact with BADA BING. THE MONARCH then continued to shift out, which resulted in BADA BING, MR BOBCAT and MY MARMALADE being severely hampered. Trainer G Bein was advised that THE MONARCH LANCE is required to pass a barrier jumpout prior to its next start.

THE MONARCH LANCE raced ungenerously approaching the 1200m.

Leaving the 400m KNOW A LADY was held up for clear running for a short distance.

THE MONARH LANCE returned to scale with blood in its mouth.

Time off 1.15 PM.

RACE 3: QRSE SKYY VODKA COLTS & GELDINGS CLAA 2 H'CAP – 1300M.

LEGCAPA and ALL ENERGY made contact on jumping away.

DUMP ‘N’ BURN and MAJOR MACLEOD made contact on jumping away.

WHEN DID YOU KNOW blundered on jumping away.

Near the 950m GRETZKY was eased when crowded for room by HILLGROVE EXPRESS (N Evans), which shifted in. N Evans was reminded of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.

ALL ENERGY was held up for clear running from leaving the 400m until the early stages of the home straight.

Near the 200m HILLGROVE EXPRESS got its head up whilst being eased from heels.

Approaching the 100m LEGCAPA shifted out taking THE RAINBELT onto DUMP ‘N’ BURN (A Kennedy) at which time the saddle on DUMP ‘N’ BURN shifted to the near side placing A Kennedy in difficulties. Shortly after MAJOR MACLEOD (J McKinnon), which took a tight run to the inside of ALL ENERGY, then shifted in taking DUMP ‘N’ BURN in, which was inclined to shift away from MAJOR MACLEOD, resulting in THE RAINBELT being checked when tightened for room between DUMP ‘N’ BURN and LEGCAPA. J McKinnon was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of WHEN DID YOU KNOW, Jockey K Yoshida stated that once his mount blundered on jumping away he did not travel well at any stage, explanation noted. A subsequent Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed that he was lame in the off hind leg. Trainer E Hayes was advised that a Veterinary clearance is required for WHEN DID YOU KNOW prior to its next start.

Time off 1.50 PM.

RACE 4: QRSE STERLING FILLIES & MARES CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1300M.

J Sharp (SPECIAL CROWN) replaced G Lynch who was unable to make the required weight. G Lynch was fined the sum of $100.

CHAUMONT was slowly away.

PRANG jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 800m PRANG was eased from the heels of FORTUNE IN SILVER (C Spry), which shifted in. C Spry was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

Approaching the 400m SPECIAL CROWN brushed the running rail when momentarily crowded for room by CHAUMONT.

Time off 2.25 PM.

RACE 5: QRSE CARLTON DRAUGHT TROPHY FILLIES & MARES H'CAP – 1300M.

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer D Smith why the rider for EXCELLENT ANN was not declared by the required time.

At the start FASHION JEWELS was crowded for room between AU CHOCOLAT, which was taken in by SKI THE TIDE, which jumped in.

On the point of the home turn BOONAH GOLD was eased when crowded for room between PALATINE, which shifted out and CELESTIA, which shifted in whilst hanging in.

In the home straight C Spry (CELESTIA) was unable to fully test his mount due to the mare hanging in.

When questioned about the disappointing performance of AU CHOCOLAT, Jockey J Sharp stated that his mount travelled well until he put it under pressure on the home turn at which time his mount failed to respond, explanation noted.

FASHION JEWELS (R Goltz), which sustained a fracture to its near hind leg in the home straight, was transported to the Oakey Veterinary Hospital for further examination. FASHION JEWELS was subsequently euthanased. R Goltz reported that his mount did not feel comfortable in her action from the time she left the barrier and once he placed her under pressure in the home straight he felt the leg go.

Time off 3.05 PM.

RACE 6: RANSOME & JORDAN CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1000M.

SAITHOR KING jumped away awkwardly losing ground.

Leaving the 800m and 500m CRAFTY KING was eased from the heels of SEGUISTA.

CRAFTY KING was held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 250m.

Near the 200m GUNNISON ISLAND was steadied when crowded for room by BIG STEVE, which shifted in marginally.

Time off 3.44 PM.

RACE 7: CARLTON PREMIUM DRY CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M.

AKERS and HOODOO VOODOO made contact on jumping away.

Approaching the 750m SPLENDID SEQUENCE, which was over -racing got its head up and shifted out whilst being eased from heels. SPLENDID SEQUENCE continued to over – race for some distance.

Leaving the 400m AKERS and HOODOO VOODOO were forced wider on the track by WINOOSKI.

On the point of the home turn SPECIAL DAME, WINOOSKI and AKERS were tightened for room between JASONS JOY (N Evans), which shifted out and HOODOO VOODOO, which shifted in whilst hanging in, resulting in SPECIAL DAME being checked and AKERS and WINOOSKI being buffeted. N Evans was reprimanded for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out.

HOODOO VOODOO hung in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

JASONS JOY returned to scale with its tongue over the bit.

Time off 4.24 PM.

RACE 8: CARLTON MIDSTRENGTH MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M.

Trainer L Paton (ONE FOR THE ROAD) and D Baker (JACK MAGIC) were eased fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare their rider by the required time.

Stewards withdrew NADEEDA at 4.46 pm when connections failed to arrive on course. Stewards will interview Trainer M Wilson at a later date why he failed to arrive. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 5 cents in the $1 win and 6 cents in the $1 place.

SUPREME COMMAND and TIAMATA were slowly away.

Leaving the 200m RED EVADER was steadied when taken in by SUPREME COMMAND.

NOBLE HUNTER shifted in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

TIME OFF 5.00 PM.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
