SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
RACE 1: THREE WAY PHOTOS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1300M.
N Tomizawa (RIP ‘N’ BEAUTY) replaced L Roberts who was unable to make the required weight. L Roberts will be interviewed at a later date.
S Drake (CHIEF SINGER) was reprimanded for not claiming down to her riding weight. S Drake was advised that if she re-offends in the future a more severe penalty would be imposed.
BLUE OYSTER and ARROWSMITH made contact on jumping away.
HOLISTIC jumped away awkwardly losing ground.
COSSANTE was slowly away.
Near the 800m BLUE OYSTER knuckled when it clipped the heels of HOLISTIC (M Rice), which shifted in. Stewards adjourned the inquiry until a date in the future as M Rice had left the course prior to permission being given.
Approaching the 500m RIP ‘N’ BEAUTY was eased from the heels of CHIEF SINGER (S Drake), which shifted out. S Drake was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
Rounding the home turn HOLISTIC, which was attempting to shift out to obtain clear running made contact with RIGHT SPICE on a number of occasions, resulting in HOLISTIC being eased near the 350m.
REGENET was held up for clear running leaving the 200m.

RACE 2: QTIS 2-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M.
THE BIG EASY knuckled on jumping away.
JUST CAN’T WAIT was slowly away.
Leaving the 1000m JUST CAN’T WAIT whilst over – racing got its head up and continued to race in that manner until shifting out near the 750m coming into contact with LADY’S OPINION.
Approaching 750m PREND was eased from the heels of PICAWILE, which shifted in.
Near the 500m LADY’S OPINION was steadied from the heels of THE BIG EASY, which shifted out.
Near the 400m PREND was eased when momentarily crowded for room by JUST CAN’T WAIT, which rolled in.
Time off 1.32 PM.
RACE 3: ALQUIP FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M.
RAINBOW ROCK and KEEPING AMUSED made contact on jumping away.
FANCY FLIRT jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after the start MIGHTY MOOSE was eased when crowded for room between KEEPING AMUSED and SLIDE, which shifted in.
Near the 900m HALIBUT and TARA DOMATIA made contact.
Approaching the 750m HALIBUT, which was racing keenly, improved to the inside of HEAD FOR COVER where there was insufficient room.
Near the 550m TARA DOMATIA was eased from the heels of SLIDE as the pace steadied.
Leaving the 550m SPARKLE EXPRESS, RAINBOW ROCK, MISS HOEY MOEY and PRIDE OF AFRICA were all checked when three horses fell.
CHIEN DE CHAT raced wide throughout.
Stewards inquired into the reason KEEPING AMUSED (J McKinnon), HALIBUT (C Bumstead) and MIGHTY MOOSE (A Lane) all fell near the 550m. After taking evidence from riders J Sharp (SPARKLE EXPRESS), H Hamada (SLIDE), C Whiteley (CHIEN DE CHAT), S Katsidis (FANCY FLIRT), M Pelling (PRIDE OF AFRICA), R Goltz (HEAD FOR COVER), K Pope (RAINBOW ROCK), L McCoy (TARA DOMATIA), K Banks (MEG’S ACE), A Parramore (MISS HOEY MOEY), and Stewards, the inquiry was adjourned as A Lane, J McKinnon and C Bumstead were transported to hospital for further treatment. KEEPING AMUSED, HALIBUT and MIGHTY MOOSE, all appeared to escape serious injury.

RACE 4: QRSE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M.
Due to the fall in the previous race all remaining races were put back one race with the last race due to start at 5.35 pm.
Trainer R Maund (VOCALIC) and Trainer J Atkins (THE BIG EASY) were each fined the sum of $50 for nominating their respective horses in a race that they were ineligible for.
Trainer J Johnston was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for TURF RAIDER by the required time.
HANS CHRISTIAN was withdrawn on Veterinary advice at 3.31 pm. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 14 cents in the $1 win, less 13 cents in the $1 place. Trainer R Lipp was advised that a Veterinary clearance is required for HANS CHRISTIAN prior to its next start.
REGAL TIPSTAR was slowly away.
TIPPING THE VELVET jumped with its head in the air.
COOLIBAH KID attempted to buck in the early stages. Trainer P Nolan was advised that COOLIBAH KID is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start.
TIPPING THE VELVET took REGAL TIPSTAR in, in the early stages.
Near the 900m SHE’S MAGIC was eased from the heels of TACTICAL STAR, which shifted in. Shortly after SHE’S MAGIC and TIPPING THE VELVET were crowded for room by OUR GOLD WARRIOR, which rolled in.
Approaching the 800m STONETYOWN STAR was eased from the heels of BETTY’S RED (W Cook), which shifted in. W Cook was reminded of his obligations when his mount is shifting ground.
Leaving the 750m TIPPING THE VELVET got its head up for some distance whilst being eased from heels.
FIRST ECLIPSE was steadied from the heels of TURF RAIDER, which shifted out over the concluding stages.
Time off 3.32 PM.
RACE 5: QRSE CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1300M.
G McKeon (LEATHER) replaced J McKinnon who was transported to hospital after falling in the previous event.
At the start VIDEO HITS was steadied when crowded for room between ROYAL DREAMER and RABBUNI, which was taken in by PERSIAN CHARM, which jumped in.
PROSECUTION was held up for clear running from the 400m until the early stages of the home straight.
ROYAL DREAMER returned to scale with a minor wound to the outside of the off fore leg.
Time off 4.10 PM.
RACE 6: QRSE CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1600M.
G Geran (FIL THE BILL) replaced G Lynch who was unable to make the required weight. Stewards took no action against G Lynch, as connections had advised him that the horse had 54.5 kgs when he accepted the ride at the Ipswich races and advised connections on Wednesday the 29th that he was unable to ride the gelding when he realized he was weighted at 54 kgs.
Y Yamazaki (TEMPLE JACK) replaced J McKinnon.
AQUA LEONE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon on arriving at the barrier and subsequently cleared to start.
CHRISENDOM and FIL THE BILL were slowly away.
BARITONE raced wide throughout.
MAGIC WIN was held up for clear running from the 350m until the early stages of the home straight and again over the concluding stages.
Time off 4.50 PM.
RACE 7: QTIS 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1600M.
NEW SOUTH was withdrawn on Veterinary advice at 5.35 pm. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 3 cents in the $1 win, less 3 cents in the $1 place. Trainer P Sexton was advised that a Veterinary clearance is required for NEW SOUTH prior to its next start.
DANTINA was slowly away.
EVIELEW, which was slowly away, hung out in the early stages.
Near the 1200m GREENBACK clipped the heels of DANTINA and blundered.
Near the 850m TRANQUILIZE blundered when it clipped the heels of MERRY PIERCE.
BATTLE AT SEA and DANE PRINCE raced wide throughout.
Time off 5.36 PM.
