At the start RAPID LOVER was tightened for room between KING JOKER, which jumped in and SWEPT UP, which jumped out.
CHARWONGA and SOCIAL WORKER made the first turn wide.
Near the 950m SOCIAL WORKER shifted in and made contact with STRIKING LOOKS.
Approaching the 550m DAWN SERVICE was eased from the heels of MILGARA (R Goltz), which shifted in. R Goltz was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

DAWN SERVICE and SWEPT UP were held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
Near the 250m DAWN SERVICE, which was initially crowded for room by RUSHWOOD, then shifted in and away from RUSHWOOD coming into heavy contact with the running rail.
Leaving the 100m SWEPT UP was eased when taken in by STRIKING LOOKS (P Carroll). SWEPT UP was then held up for clear running for the remainder of the race. P Carroll was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.
NEARCO’S GENIUS was held up for clear running from the 350m until the finish.
J Warrington (RAPID LOVER) was fined the sum of $50 for weighing in excess of a ½ kg overweight. When considering the penalty stewards took into account that J Warrington had not been spoken to previously for a similar offence.
Jockey R Goltz (MILGARA) was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that near the 400m he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of STRIKING LOOKS causing that horse to be taken out, which tightened KING JOKER (L Roberts) onto the hindquarters of FOREVER LODGE, resulting in L Roberts almost being dislodged when his mount blundered when clipping heels and STRIKING LOOKS being eased. R Goltz was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings as of mid- night 27-04-05 and to expire at mid-night 6-05-05. Stewards took into account the excellent riding record of R Goltz when considering the penalty.
Time off 4.07 PM.
RACE 2: GARDEN CITY REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITION MAIDEN PLATE – 1303M.
JUST A SNUGGLE jumped out coming into heavy contact with DIAMONDANA, which then shifted out coming into contact with RORY’S BOY.

Approaching the 550m NOTABLE VICTORY shifted in and made contact with the running rail.
EVORG hung in, in the home straight.
FRAAREVA raced wide throughout.
Jockey P Moodie (DIAMONDANA) was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that leaving the 900m he directed his mount outwards when insufficiently clear of HOO HOOKS causing that horse to be tightened onto FRAAREVA, which resulted in HOO HOOKS being severely checked and losing ground. P Moodie was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 meeting as of mid-night 25-04-05 and to expire at mid-night 7-05-05
Time off 4.47 PM.
RACE 3: QRSE CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1303M.

Leaving the 400m TOP PERCH was forced wide on the track by MILLIMAC, which shifted out to obtain clear running. Shortly after MILLIMAC and TOP PERCH were taken wide by NICKELBACK, which shifted out whilst hanging out.
Near the 250m MILLIMAC shifted in and made contact with NICKLEBACK.
When questioned about the improved performance of ANCIENT KING, trainer M Nolan stated that in the 1600m race on the 16-04-05 the first 1000m was run exceptionally fast, which did not suit ANCIENT KING and no doubt the gelding would have finished closer if he had not received a check in the home straight. Mr Nolan further stated that today the pace of the race suited ANCIENT KING much better. Mr Nolan also stated that he has his doubts about ANCIENT KING being able to run a strong 1600m, explanation noted.
Time off 5.25 PM.
RACE 4: NANA BRETT’S 80TH BIRTHDAY CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1605M.

MISSY ROYALE returned to scale lame in the near fore leg. Trainer J Collins was advised that a veterinary clearance is required for the mare prior to its next start.
When questioned about the disappointing performance of HOUSE OF WOODWIND, jockey A Parramore stated that his mount travelled fairly until leaving the 800m and from that point his mount did not travel like a winner. A Parramore further stated that HOUSE OF WOODWIN might not have recovered from the hard run he had on Weetwood day, explanation noted.
A swab sample was unable to be taken from BADA BING, which became very stirred up in the swab stall.
Time off 6.01PM.
RACE 5: QRSE LEN PATTI MOTORS CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1003M.
Approaching the 800m JOEKEN (S Richardson) shifted in tightening the running of SLIDE, CROWNING HALO and CHEETAH COUNTY (R Pittman), which was checked and lost ground. S Richardson was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Stewards advised S Richardson that he may have been charged with careless riding if stewards had not taken into account the evidence of R Pittman, that his mount by hanging in, had contributed to him having to check. R Pittman reported his mount continued to hang in for the remainder of the race.
Time off 6.35 PM.
RACE 6: QUEENSLAND GRAIN PROTECTION SERVICES 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP – 1003M.
