Stewards Report
4th November 2005

Stewards today held an inquiry into the results of the analysis of a swab sample provided by Jockey N Spencer at Toowoomba on the 18th of October 2005. N Spencer pleaded guilty to a charge under AR81(A)(a) in that the sample taken was found to contain the prohibited drug Cannabis. Jockey N Spencers license to ride in races was suspended for a period of three calendar months to commence midnight 28/10/05 and to conclude midnight 28/1/06. Jockey N Spencer was further fined to sum of $1000, $500 of which, Stewards suspended for 12 months on the proviso Jockey Spencer does not re-offend in that time. Jockey Spencer was given three months to pay and advised of his appeal rights.


RACE 1: YOUR RIGHTS AT WORK CLASS 1 H'CAP 1024M

JAZZY’S PRIDE jumped awkwardly.

HOBEAU and SKYLARNI were both slow away.

SHIRE GIRL raced wide throughout.

PEDRO AND CRAIG raced wide during the early stages of the race.

RUNNING WARRIOR was held up rounding the home turn, then was hampered IV’S

CHANCE rolled in on straightening.

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer L Fraser concerning the gear for RUNNING WARRIOR.

RACE 2: LEN PATTI MOTORS QTIS 3 Y-O MAIDEN PLATE 1024M

BE PRECISE was reluctant to load, warning.

GO NUGGET was slow away.

WIDE BAY jumped in at the same time HONEYMAH LANE jumped out resulting in contact with HONEYMAH LANE being slow away.

Approaching the 900m DAWNHILL hung in and had to be eased of the heels BE PRECISE.

Approaching the 550m AFFAIR OF HONOUR rolled in crowding PEDROLANI.

PURE ANGEL rolled out at the 500m making contact with DAWNHILL.

SADDLE YOUR PRIDE raced wide throughout.

RACE 3: GEEFORD COACHES CLASS 2 H'CAP 1640M

BLEVIC’S BEST was slow away.

DANE PRINCE jumped awkwardly breaking its breastplate, then rounding turn race ungenerously momentarily.

RACE 4: QTU MURRAY BRIGGS CLASS 4 H'CAP 1126M

MUSTANG’S MATE had to resaddled behind the barriers.

GAELIC PRINCE jumped awkwardly out and continued out making contact CLAYMORE
Which shifted out hampering STRATIFCATION, which was slow into stride.

FOURAK LAD was slow into stride.

Approaching the 800m LOVE IN THE MIST had to eased of the heels of FRISCO’S ROSE shifting out hampering FOURAK LAD.

RACE 5: 3-WAY PHOTOS CLASS 3 H'CAP 1326M

INITIALS jumped in at the same time WOKANDI jumped out coming into heavy contact.

Approaching the 1200 WOKANDI dipped.

PREMEDITATE raced wide throughout.

Time off 6.50pm

RACE 6: LINE-X DISTRIBUTORS PTY LTD MAIDEN H'CAP 1326M

SHRIEKING blundered at the jump.

GOTHIC JEWEL was slow away, then race wide in the early stages of the race.

ROSMA was slow away.

Approaching the 800m GLORIOUS BE got it head up when being steadied.

On straightening SILVERSMITH shifted out hampering ROBYN’S REVENGE and GLORIOUS BE.

Jockey J McKinnon (ROSMA) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground over the concluding stages of the race.

RACE 7: SUHR WEDDING FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 2 H’CAP 1226M

SHINKICKIN COWGIRL was withdrawn at 9.50am due to being lame in the near foreleg; connections were advised a vet certificate would be required prior to its next start.

J Sharp (PICAMELO) was reprimanded when his mount shifted in when insufficiently clear of Running Queen at the 1100m.

WILD INTENTIONS raced wide early.

Jockey W Cook (OH RUBY) was suspended from riding in races for 7 meetings from midnight 6/11/05 up to and including 19/11/05 after being found guilty of careless riding, when his mount shifted in taken STAR OF ALSKA in onto the hind quarters of MONA LISA SMILE which had rolled out slightly, STAR OF ALSKA had to be checked and struck the heels of OH RUBY and blundered.

Time off 8.08pm.
