SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As S. Drake and M. Cahill were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Carlton Mid Class 1 H’cap – 1000m.
1st – Saint Angelo 2nd – Legal Pursuit 3rd – Earl Of Lonsdale 4th - Kiap

RUN MISTY (M. Radecker) was slow to begin.

SMARTY JOHNS (M. Price) was tightened for room at the start between OH MARTINA (B. Stewart), which jumped inwards, and DE BONO (R. Plumb), which jumped outwards.

SAINT ANGELO (G. Geran) jumped inwards at the start, coming into contact with BEEMER BLONDE.

DEBACLE (S. Seamer) and IMPRESSIVE SLEW (S. Apthorpe) began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, SMARTY JOHNS (M. Price) had to be eased when tightened for room between DE BONO and OH MARTINA, which was taken in by SAINT ANGELO, which hung in. BEEMER BLONDE, which was following, had to be steadied from the heels of OH MARTINA.



Approaching the 800m., KIAP (J. Warrington) had to be steadied after laying in on to the heels of DEBACLE.

Near the 550m., MISTER KNIGHT (P. Wolfgram) had to be steadied off the heels of LEGAL PURSUIT.

WHO IS JOE (R. Goltz) was held up for clear running from the 400m. until the 50m

Near the 200m., OH MARTINA shifted in and away from LEGAL PURSUIT and had to be eased from the heels of IMPRESSIVE SLEW .

SALAMAT KIITOS MOI (P. Gesler) raced wide until the home turn..

Race 2: Skyy Vodka Class 3 H’cap – 1100m.
1st – True Flyer 2nd – Frisco’s Rose 3rd – Private Frisco 4th – Mister Alpha

CRAIGLEA PATH, which dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers, was subsequently withdrawn on veterinary advice at 2.48 p.m.. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on CRAIGLEA PATH were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 13 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 12 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.

FLYING NURSE (M. Price) and FRISCOS ROSE (E. Dredge) were slow to begin.

FLYING NURSE was inclined to hang out at the 800m..

Near the 700m., PRIVATE FRISCO (A. Parramore) got its head in the air whilst being steadied from the heels of CARINA DONNA (R. Goltz).

MISTER ALPHA (C. Bumstead) shifted in and made contact with the running rail on the home turn.

A veterinary exmaination of FLYING NURSE, which performed disappointingly, failed to reveal any abnormalities.


Race 3: VB QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m.
1st – O’Callahern 2nd – In Phuket 3rd – Coffee Time 4th - Delesia

IN PHUKET jumped away awkwardly.

O’CALLAHERN (C. Gilby), GLORIFICATION (J. Warrington) and SUPERINTENDENT (P. Spry) were all slow to begin.

Near the 950m., DELESIA (J. McKinnon), whilst racing greenly, shifted out, taking
SUPERINTENDENT (P. Spry) out on to BRACADALE (J. Pujolas).


DELESIA laid in making contact with XAAREAL (J. Bowditch) at the 900m..

COFFEE TIME (R. Plumb) was inclined to hang out approching the 800m..

Leaving the 550m., O’CALLAHERN knucked.

GLORIFICATION (J. Warrington) and EASY STRIKE (G. Geran) made contact rounding the home turn.

The saddle on O’CALLAHERN shifted back during running.

Race 4: QRSE Crown Lager Class 2 H’cap – 1300m.
1st – Dane In Gold 2nd – The Pilot 3rd - Chickchat 4th – Fair Ace

FIGHTER PILOT (B. El-Issa) raced keenly in the early stages.

Approaching the 1000m., ONLY HERESAE (J. Taylor) shifted in and made contact with TAKE THE SHOT (S. Seamer).

Nearing the 600m., FAIR ACE (R. Goltz) had to be eased from the heels of TAKE THE SHOT.

Approaching the 550m., LIAMA LIP (K. Yoshida) had to be eased from the heels of CHICKCHAT (G. Geran), which shifted in. G. Geran, rider of CHICKCHAT, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.

Leaving the 550m., CHICKCHAT (G. Geran) made contact with the running rail when crowded for room by FAIR ACE (R. Goltz), which rolled in whilst pulling hard.

DANE IN GOLD (J. Warrington) was held up for clear running from leaving the 400m. until the point of the home turn.

Shortly after straightening, FAIR ACE shifted out and made contact with TAKE THE SHOT (S. Seamer).

Approaching the 250m., PARTYING (M. Price) attempted to shift out to obtain clear running and made contact with VOCALIC (G. Lynch).

Leaving the 100m., TAKE THE SHOT had to be steadied from the heels of LIAMA LIP, which shifted out to obtain clear running. K. Yoshida, rider of LIAMA LIP, was advised of his obligations when his mounts shift ground.

MY BON CHEVAL (K. Banks) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: QRSE Carlton Draught Fillies & Mares Trophy – 1300m.
1st – Princess Margaret 2nd – Countess Bathory 3rd – Dance Sally Dance 4th – Love And Money
STAR OF ASIA (J. Taylor) was slow to begin.

Leaving the 1000m., MARDI GRAS (S. Galloway), which was overracing, shifted out abruptly when being eased from the heels of WONDERER (S. Seamer), forcing WILD COLONIAL GIRL (B. El-Issa) wider on the track. MARDI GRAS then raced ungenerously for a short distance.

After passing the 900m., MILADY MATTY (G. Geran) got its head up whilst being eased from the heels of MARDI GRAS..

Approaching the 750m., HOOFER (A. Merritt) and STAR SAUVAGE (J. Warrington) were tightened for room whilst racing to the inside of WINSOME DANCER (R. Goltz).

WILD COLONIAL GIRL (B. El-Issa), WONDERER (S. Seamer) and MARDI GRAS (S. Galloway) raced wide throughout.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MARDI GRAS, S. Galloway stated that the mare was never travelling like a winner and he believed that the disappointing performance could be attributed to the weight and hard track, which MARDI GRAS was never comfortable on. A post race veterinary exmaination of MARDI GRAS failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken from the mare.

Race 6: QRSE Cougar Bourbon Maiden H’cap – 1200m.
1st – Special Dawn 2nd – Northshore Lady 3rd – Coquito Rose 4th – But Say

SHINKO STAR, which became very fractious in the barriers, was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Trainer G. Alati was advised that he would be required to provide a barrier test certificate for SHINKO STAR prior to its next race start.

BUT SAY (G. Lynch) jumped outwards at the start, taking ROLLER DRUM (S. Apthorpe) on to PEDRO’S SPECTRUM (G. Geran), which then shifted out, coming into heavy contact with BUNDALA (A. Parramore), which then made contact with ALO MOON CAKE (J. Warrington).

MAJESTIC LION (B. El-Issa) knuckled on jumping away, losing ground.

At the same stage, SHINKO STAR (A. Merritt) shifted out and made contact with LOCAL DUST (J. Bowditch).

QUEENSLANDER (J. Taylor), which fractured its near fore fetlock at the 800m., was subsequently euthanased on humane grounds by the club’s veterinary surgeon.

Near the 550m., ROLLER DRUM was tightened for room by MAJESTIC LION, which shifted in whilst laying in. MAJESTIC LION then shifted out, hampering ORPEN ALL HOURS (M. Price). BUNDALA, which was following, knuckled whilst being steadied.

Near the 400m., ROLLER DRUM (S. Apthorpe) was tightened for room by MAJESTIC LION, which shifted in whilst laying in.



Shortly after straightening, ROLLER DRUM (S. Apthorpe) shifted out, taking the tiring MAJESTIC LION out on to the heels of ORPEN ALL HOURS (M. Price), resulting in MAJESTIC LION being eased.

LOCAL DUST and CLOISONNE (K. Banks) raced wide throughout.


Race 7: Carlton Premium Dry Class 1 H’cap – 1600m.
1st - Attackengo 2nd – Ancient Faeroe 3rd – Rock The Dawn 4th – Mabel Downs

The start was delayed whilst a member of the public required medical attention.

ROCK THE DAWN (J. Bowditch) and MONA LISA SMILE (R. Plumb) were slow to begin.

DAWN SERVICE (C. Bumstead) jumped outwards at the start, taking ANCIENT FAEROE (P. Wolfgram) out on to MABEL DOWNS (K. Yoshida), which then made contact with the hind quarters of BEAUZIG (G. Geran).

Shortly after the start, MIGHTY CLASSY (P. Spry) shifted in and made contact with NEVER WRONG (J. Pujolas), resulting in J Pujolas becoming unbalanced momentarily.

Leaving the 1500m., MONA LISA SMILE (R. Plumb) was eased from the heels of ANCIENT FAEROE, which shifted in. P. Wolfgram, rider of ANCIENT FAEROE, was reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground.

Near the 1400m., ANCIENT FAEROE was eased from the heels of BEAUZIG (G. Geran), which shifted in.





ALL WINNERS, MARDI GRAS AND ANCIENT FAEROE WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
