Bookmaker B. Toomey was fined $100 for use of an unlicensed clerk. B. Toomey was also reprimanded for his conduct towards an official.
RACE 1: MAGIC MILLIONS REALTY CLASS 1 H’CAP – 900M
1st – Toohotforu 2nd – Crypt 3rd – Stipulation 4th – Penalized
DECIBELLA (H. Hamada) and MITZU (R. Goltz) broke through the barriers and galloped for some distance. Both horses were declared late scratchings by order of the stewards at 12.27 pm. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on DECIBELLA and MITZU were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 24 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 21 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.
CRYPT (J. Byrne) also broke through the barriers however was quickly restrained. CRYPT was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
SILVER LACE (S. Apthorpe) was slow to begin, then shifted out, making contact with the hind quarters of STIPULATION (S. Katsidis).
SILVER LACE and STIPULATION raced wide throughout.
RACE 2: COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M
1st – Culminate 2nd – Ninety Degrees 3rd – Worthy Quest 4th – Boozey Chariot
BOOZEY CHARIOT (J. Warrington) was tightened for room on jumping away between STAMOUNA (R. Goltz) and CULMINANTE (J. Byrne), both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 800m, BOOZEY CHARIOT was momentarily tightened for room by CULMINANTE, which shifted in and away from HANURABI (A. Merritt).
HANURABI and STRESS ATTACK (S. Apthorpe) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Following this event the track rating was upgraded to good.
RACE 3: MAGIC MILLIONS INSURANCE F&M MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M.
1st – Symatina 2nd – Lights Off 3rd – Pershinko 4th – Stiletto Heels
STILETTO HEELS (J. Sharp) was slow to begin.
TUSCANY MUSIC (J. Warrington) jumped away awkwardly and then overraced in the early stages and was forced to race wide from the 800m.
LEICA LADY (H. Hamada) jumped away very awkwardly and raced ungenerously in the early stages, losing considerable ground.
Near the 900m, LIGHTS OFF (A. Taylor), when being restrained from the heels of RUBIN JANE (A. Spinks), commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out, taking TUSCANNY MUSIC wider on the track. LIGHTS OFF continued to race ungenerously and near the 600m shifted out, making contact with TUSCANNY MUSIC on several occasions.
Leaving the 550m, STILETTO HEELS improved up on to the heels of RUBIN JANE (A. Spinks) and had to be steadied. SEQUALO SUNRISE (S. Richardson), which was following, also had to be steadied as a consequence.
A post race veterinary examination of LEICA LADY failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 4: MM HORSES IN TRAINING & RACEHORSE SALE PART 2 CLASS 2 H’CAP - 1300M.
1st – Irish Advice 2nd – Streetwalkin’ 3rd – Rin Tin 4th – Fair Halo
SECRET SILVER (S. Drake) pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
Near the 800m, SECRET SILVER shifted in momentarily, tightening the running of IRISH ADVICE (G. Gera) and KALINGA IVOR (S. Holcombe).
LEGALLY HOT (R. Goltz) was held up from upon straightening until near the 100m.
SECRET SILVER (S. Drake), FAIR HALO (A. Taylor) and MY BON CHEVAL (A. Winfield) all raced wide for the majority of the event.
RACE 5: MCKENNA CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Azzaland 2nd – Caffe Di Clang 3rd – Three Chances 4th - Baladi
KALINGA KATE (S. Holcombe) and CAFFE DI CLANG (S. Katsidis) were tightened for room at the start between AZZALAND (G. Geran), which jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, and CHING HOI BOY (C. Eaton), which shifted in.
TUSCAN BLAZE (A. Spinks) raced wide throughout.
RACE 6:MAGIC MILLIONS 2YO TROPHY PLATE - 1000M.
1st – Magnificent Dancer 2nd – Hebitda 3rd – Rufescent 4th – Rocket Gal
KIRRA LYN (J. Taylor) jumped outwards at the start, making heavy contact with FREE NEAR FREE (K. Banks).
HONOUR BARNEY (A. Winfield) was slow to begin.
Approaching the 900m, FREE NEAR FREE had to be steadied when tightened for room between KIRRA LYN (J. Taylor) and HEBITDA (K. Pope), both of which shifted ground.
Rounding the 800m turn, KIRRA LYN shifted out, resulting in HEBITDA having to be steadied when taken on to the hind quarters of TAIKHAN (R. Goltz). HEBITDA then commenced to hang out until entering the home straight. A short distance later, KIRRA LYN shifted back in, resulting in FREE NEAR FREE having to be steadied to avoid that horse’s heels.
Approaching the finishing line, RUFFSCENT (J. Byrne) hung in and had to be steadied off the heels of MAGNIFICENT DANCER.
RACE 7: XXXX TROPHY F&M H’CAP - 1100M.
1st – Quizzical Lady 2nd – Ms Marju 3rd – Key Bar Nights 4th – Girls Jeuney
As C. Spry was injured, R. Goltz was substituted as the rider of YOUR LION EYES.
ALTAICA (G. Geran) and SUUBIRD (J. Taylor) were slow to begin.
LIPINSKI (K. Banks) jumped in the air at the start.
Near the 1000m, MI CIELO (A. Taylor) shifted in, resulting in MILLIMAC (H. Hamada) having to be steadied to avoid the heels of MI CIELO.
Leaving the 1000m, COCCOLARE (A. Spinks) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of QUIZZICAL LADY (B. Pengelly), which shifted in. B. Pengelly, rider of QUIZZICAL LADY, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
LIPINSKI, which raced wide throughout the event, shifted in near the 550m, making contact with COCCOLARE.
In the early stages of the home straight, MILLIMAC (H. Hamada) had difficulty obtaining clear running to the inside of the tiring WINAURA (A. Pattillo).
J. Byrne, rider of KEY BAR NIGHTS, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the winning post when not sufficiently clear of MI CIELO (A. Taylor), resulting in that horse racing in restricted room and having to be steadied. In this incident, MI CIELO was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of A. Best, rider of GIRLS JEUNEY.
RACE 8: MAGIC MILLIONS PARADISE OF OPPORTUNITIES CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1600M.
1st – Dive At Five 2nd – Stylish Cheree 3rd – Seven Freddies 4th – Semine
FANTASTIC DANE (A. Best) and I’M SO RADIANT (A. Taylor) were tightened for room on jumping away between SEMINE (S. Katsidis) and SEVEN FREDDIES (S. Richardson), which shifted out. In this incident, A. Taylor, rider of I’M SO RADIANT, was obliged to relinquish her position.
IMAGED (J. Taylor) was slow to begin.
SEMINE (S. Katsidis) blundered making the 1500m crossing.
Near the 550m, I’M SO RADIANT shifted in of its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail.
A post race veterinary examination of IMAGED, which compounded over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any abnormality.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
