Race 1: Tyrrell’s Wines QTIS 2yo Maiden H'cap – 1050m

PIRELLI PRINCESS – Bumped and forced wider on the track approaching the 900m. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

UNO BEST - Bumped and forced much wider on the track approaching the 900m. Was then restrained to a position at the tail of the field to obtain a position closer to the rail. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

NATIONAL TRAIL – Raced ungenerously for a short distance whilst being restrained off heels leaving the 800m. Raced wide throughout.

MATILDARE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

Race 2: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks BM75 H'cap – 1300m

AASHIQ – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. When questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to settle at the rear of the field after being slow to begin rather than improving 3 wide in the early stages, jockey Goltz advised that prior to the race he was instructed to ride the horse in a forward position as last start the gelding failed to run on when ridden off the pace. Jockey Goltz added that whilst being forced to race wide throughout, his mount travelled comfortably for the entire event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding in the home straight.

THE YOWIE – Overraced in the early stages.

UNDER HE HAT – Held up rounding the home turn.

EQUISSENTIAL – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Audi Centre Toowoomba Class 2 H'cap 1625m

MR DODO – Subject to further submissions, trainer T. Hall was fined $100 for the late declaration of R. Johnston-Bell as the rider of the horse. Stewards questioned rider R. Johnston-Bell in relation to the tactics adopted on the horse in reference to whether there was an opportunity to allow his mount to stride forward to a position outside the leader near the 900m rather than race 3 wide without cover. Apprentice Johnston-Bell after being caught wide in the middle stages was of the view he would have been required to place his mount under excessive pressure to enable him to cross FIFTH COLUMN to position outside the leader, and with that in mind was of the view that he was better served attempting to settle the gelding to allow it to relax as best as possible whilst remaining in a 3 wide position. Having had the opportunity to watch the replay, apprentice Johnston-Bell agreed with stewards that, in the circumstances, it would have been more advantageous for him to allow MR DODO to slide forward to a position outside the leader which would have afforded him a more comfortable run throughout the event.

MISS SNOWSILL – Slow to begin.

TUBE RIDE – Jumped away awkwardly.

MR PENNYPACKER – After being caught 4 wide in the early stages, jockey M. O’Brien allowed her mount to stride forward and obtained a position outside the leader near the 800m.

COMMANDER BOLTZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

TUMBLING AL – Held up on heels of a tiring runner in the early stages of the home straight before being shifted wider to obtain clear running.

Race 4: Strathayr Class 3 Plate – 1100m

LA MINA – Proved difficult to load, then escaped the barrier attendant, resulting in the bridle being removed. Upon recapture, the horse was declared a late scratching at 6.43 pm Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

0 cent in the dollar for the Win #2
3 cents in the dollar for place of winner #2
2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #5
6 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #1

SP bets are subject to deductions.

Trainer L. Hatch was advised that LA MINA would require a further barrier certificate.

STAKED EMOTION – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SCENIC ROAD – Raced ungenerously leaving the 900m for a short distance whilst being restrained.

Race 5: QFFS Class 1 H'cap 1000m

MARKSFIELD – Slow to begin. Forced to take evasive action and shift wider on the track to avoid the fallen rider near the 600.

BARAKULA – Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 800m. Forced shift wider on the track to avoid the fallen rider near the 600.

Race 6: Queensland Choice Meats QTIS 3yo Maiden H'cap – 1200m

Stewards intend speaking to apprentice A. Van Der Sanden in relation to her failure to seek permission to leave the course.

AUDELLA – On return to scale, rider J. Missen advised that his intention was to ride in a more forward position, however his mount failed to muster sufficient speed and he settled further back in the field than anticipated.

KAMIRI LAD - Began awkwardly and lost ground.

SEPTIMUS PRIME – Tightened for room at the start, losing ground.

MACSPICK – Forced to steady approaching the 900m when overracing in the early stages.

OUAGADOUGOU – Shifted in and away from SAINTSKI near the 900m and as a result accidentally clipped the heels of SOMERSET DAWN and blundered.

Race 7: Nuturf Maiden Plate – 1100m

SOVEREIGN STAR – On return to scale jockey K. Matherson reported his mount hung in for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride out. Jumped in the air at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

CASSE SAXET – Began awkwardly.

PRETTY LUCKY – Brushed the running rail near the 700m. On return to scale rider B. Stower reported that as a result of being caught wide early he elected to restrain to a position closer to the rail near the 800m. She stated from this point the filly dropped the bit and was reluctant to stretch out during the middle stages of the event, however when shifted wider in the home straight ran on well.

CASSE SAXET – Steadied off heels of tiring runners approaching the 100m and again near the 50m.

TREY BIT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
