SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Stewards inquired into the reason J Brown failed to fulfil her engagement as the rider of ETCHING Race 2, Toowoomba Turf Club 25 October 2009. After hearing all the evidence stewards accepted the explanation tendered by J Brown and no further action taken.


Race 1: HUME DOORS & TIMBER QTIS 600 2YO H’CAP – 850M
1st – Sir Qualified 2nd – It’s Thirsty Work 3rd – Junabee Road 4th – Just Destiny

Both SIEANNA ROYAL (R Goltz) and LEICA PULSE (Z Landry) were slow to begin.

JUST DESTINY (G Geran) jumped in the air as the start was effected.

JUNABEE ROAD (A Best) and QUEEN OF HAPPINESS (D Gill) made contact on jumping away as a result of both horses shifting ground.

Shortly after the start LEICA PULSE commenced to race ungenerously and hung out shifting wider on the track and continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. Trainer P Nolan was advised that LEICA PULSE must compete to the satisfaction of stewards in an official trial before being permitted to race again. A post race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed slight abrasions to its near-fore cannon.

Approaching the 700m JUST DESTINY shifted out bumping IT’S THIRSTY WORK (N Tomizawa).

IT’S THIRSTY WORK raced wide for the majority of the event.

G Geran, the rider of JUST A DESTINY was reprimanded for his use of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(i)(ii) in that he used his whip in a forehand manor on six (6) occasions and in consecutive manor.

Race 2: GAINSBOROUGH HARDWARE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 850M
1st - Tycoon Tattoo 2nd - Reilly Blue 3rd - Triple Ay 4th - Ottens

TYCOON TATTOO (N Tomizawa) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

REILLY BLUE (G Geran) laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

OTTENS (K Yoshida) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 3: HYNE & SON CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M
1st – Beautiful Moon 2nd - Worthy 3rd – Zedda Jay 4th – Galloping Rhymes

IT’S WUNDERBAR was declared a late scratching at 8.00am by order stewards. Trainer J Vaughan was advised that he would be interviewed at a date and time to be fixed in regards to his failure to scratch IT’S WUNDERBAR by the prescribed time.

ZEDDA JAY (G Geran) was tightened for room at the start between MAXIMISS (J Brown) which shifted out slightly and WATERFORD SPRINGS (M O’Brien) which shifted in making heavy contact with ZEDDA JAY (G Geran).

CLINTO KHAN (S Holcombe) shifted out at the start making contact with PICAWILE (M Dorrington) which began awkwardly.

CLINTO KHAN (S Holcombe) raced wide for the majority of the event.

MAXIMISS (J Brown) had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of BEAUTIFUL MOON (A Taylor) near the 500m.

BEAUTIFUL MOON (A Taylor) was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn and approaching the 200m shifted in abruptly to obtain clear running to the inside of WORTHY (A Best) which laid out. MR MEGS (P Wolfgram) which was racing back and to the inside of Taylor had to be restrained to avoid that horse’s heels. A Taylor (BEAUTIFUL MOON) was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

Race 4: CSR CEMINTEL CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Channel Crossing 2nd - Girls Aloud 3rd – Half Drunk 4th – Sweet

Both NEWBERRY WONDER (M Dorrington) and CHANNEL CROSSING (R Goltz) were slow to begin.

GIRLS ALOUD (G Geran) over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

MY FIRST LADY (A Taylor) over raced in the early and middle stages of the race and leaving the 1000m shifted out making contact with GIRLS ALOUD.

Race 5: OCEANIA FOREST PRODUCTS CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Star Of Minto 2nd - Cuban Dancer 3rd - Mosstang 4th - Hesashow

The start was delayed when HESASHOW dislodged its rider M Milford proceeding to the barriers. M Milford was examined by the clubs ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his engagement. After cantering a short distance HESASHOW was recaptured behind the barriers, after being examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon the gelding was cleared to start. The start was further delayed when HESASHOW shifted its near-fore plate having to be re-plated. J Bayliss, the trainer of HESASHOW was advised a warning would be placed on that horse’s barrier manners which was fractious in the barriers.

CUBAN DANCER (R Goltz) threw its head in the air on jumping away.

HESASHOW (M Milford) began awkwardly.

BASE DANCER (P Wolfgram) commenced to over race shortly after the start and near the 800m had to be steadied off the heels of MOSSTANG (J Wood).

HESASHOW raced wide for the majority of the event.

CUBAN DANCER was held up for clear running leaving the 500m until entering the home straight.

Race 6: MAKITA OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
1st - Camphor 2nd - Thrillseeker 3rd – Fatal Femme Fatale 4th – Check The Leader

KATES COURAGE (A Erhart) jumped in the air as the start was effected.

MONTANA GAZUMPT (M Dorrington) and LIJUDARO (S Richardson) were slow to begin.

CAMPHOR (A Best) began awkwardly.

FATAL FEMME FATALE (S Bogenhuber) jumped out at the start making contact with MYPERION (J Brown).

TWO RIVERS (N Evans) stood flat footed and lost considerable ground at start. Trainer R Coveney was advised the mare must acquire 2 barrier certificates prior to being permitted to race again.

Near the 800m CAMPHOR (A Best) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of I’M ALL YOURS (A Badger) which shifted in.

Near the 800m TWO RIVERS improved onto the heels of THRILLSEEKER (N Tomizawa) having to be steadied and threw its head in the air and shifted wider on the track as a result.

Near the 350m KATES COURAGE hung in making contact with MONTANA GAZUMPT (M Dorrington).

CHECK THE LEADER (R Goltz) was held up for clear running from the 350m until the 150m.

Approaching the 100m MONTANA GAZUMPT faltered and was retired from the race. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that leaving the 300m a run presented itself to the inside of MYPERION (J Brown) however MONTANA GAZUMPT was not in a position to take advantage of the run. From that point approaching the 100m MONTANA GAZUMPT persisted in attempting a narrow run to the inside of MYPERION which then shifted in under pressure, when being steadied and electing to come out across the heels of MYPERION, MONTANA GAZUMPT faltered. TWO RIVERS which was following was inconvenienced.
A post race veterinary examination of MONTANA GAZUMPT revealed the gelding had injured its off fore shoulder.

Race 7: SID’S PLACE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1500M
1st – Fleischmans Rocket 2nd - Boogeemac 3rd – Sam’s Crossing 4th - Rosy Road Home

At the start FLEISCHMANS ROCKET (A Best) and ROSY ROAD HOME (A Taylor) were tightened for room between DECARAZI (G Geran) which shifted in and PLAIN SKAR (N Tomizawa) shifted out.

FLEISCHMANS ROCKET raced wide in the middle stages.

DECARZI raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Leaving the 1200m SUPERVOLITO (R Goltz) commenced to over race and as a result momentarily shifted out forcing SAM’S CROSSING (J Brown) wider on the track.

PLAIN SKAR shifted out making contact with SAM’S CROSSING (J Brown) near the 600m.

About the 350m SAM’S CROSSING was disappointed for a run between SUPERVOLITO and FLEISCHMANS ROCKET and had to be steadied. SAM’S CROSSING was then held up for clear running until entering the home straight.

A post race veterinary examination of RIBLESS (M Milford) which finished tailed off failed to reveal any abnormalities.
