When afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance of CONHENRI, trainer G. He explained that at its last start the horse drew the outside barrier, was never on the track and raced without cover. He said also in that event he was somewhat disappointed in that the rider on that occasion, in his opinion, elected to ride forward from the 700m. He said at the start prior to that the horse again drew off the track and although it raced wide, in his opinion was not too disappointing. He added that he had changed the horse's work rider and also elected to change the rider for tonight's event. He further added that with a more favourable draw tonight and the change of rider he was confident the horse would demonstrate the good work it has been showing him at home on the track.

Near the 600m DELLASERABLUE (S. Bogenhuber) became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped the hind quarters of PUKEKURA BOY.
