SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

RACE 1: DELL JAMES PATRON/JUANDAH HOTEL OPEN H’CAP 1200M
1st – Henavari 2nd – Gunnison Island 3rd – Al Khafra 4th – Christie Lee

CHRISTIE LEE and DEFEND were both slow to begin.

B Calkin, the rider of AL KHAFRA, was questioned as to why he stopped riding that gelding out over the final 100m of the event. Jockey B Calkin stated that, in his opinion, the gelding was short in its action and may have been sore in its front legs. A post race vet inspection of AL KHAFRA confirmed the horse to be sore in both fore feet and both the vet and trainer T Popp were of the opinion that this may have resulted from today’s’ gear change of concussion plated on. Trainer T Popp was advised to remove the concussion plates and provide a veterinary clearance prior to next start.

RACE 2: LANDMARK CLASS 4 H’CAP 1200M
1st – Gold Rimu 2nd – Beejay Dancer 3rd – The Pilot 4th – Robert’s Reward

THE PILOT was slow to begin.

RACE 3: BANKWEST CLASS B H’CAP 1000M
1st – Oh Martina 2nd – Empire Line 3rd –Nothin’leica Minto 4th – Go Atom

Apprentice C Pye, the rider of IV’S CHANCE, was fined the sum of $50 for failing to claim her full allowance.

MAUDIE KATE, SALAMAT KIITOS MOI and GLASS SHOES were all slow to begin.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of LUCY’S DOUBT, Apprentice G Clegg stated that the horse had been quite disappointing and that he felt the horse had failed to stretch out, perhaps as a result of the dusty conditions. He further stated that the mare may have been sore on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination of LUCY’S DOUBT revealed the horse to be lame in the off fore leg, connections were advise that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to next start.

RACE 4: BLACK TOYOTA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1100M
1st – Happy Salieri 2nd – Amron Fair 3rd – Rodway Sprite 4th – Dane Sahara

BUTCHER BAKER, which refused to load, and ATHOL’S GIRL, which injured itself in the barriers, were both declared late scratchings at 3:47pm. Upon declaration of correct weight stewards ordered deductions of 34c the win and 27c the place on all winning tickets bet above the line. Connections of ATHOL’S GIRL were advised a further barrier certificate would be required for that mare prior to next start. Connections of BUTCHER BAKER were advised a warning would be placed on that gelding.

DANE SAHARA, which hung out throughout, was forced to ease from the heels of MOORNA near the 600m.

HAPPY SALIERI hung out throughout the event.

A post race veterinary inspection of TARGINNIE GOLD, which raced greenly throughout, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
