RACE 1: S Katsidis replaced D Tarrant (DANCING SERANADE), as D Tarrant was unable to make the weight, Jockey D Tarrant was fined $50. CHARIOTACRESS (P Gesler) jumped awkwardly. STAR OF EARTH (P Stanley) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride, then shortly after the start raced greenly getting its head in the air and whilst going forward made heavy contact with GLENDALE PRINCESS (R Barone) which had shifted inwards after making contact with CHARIOTACRESS which had moved in and away from ALFALINA (R Hall). At approx. the 700m FUN AND FOAM (G Lynch) had to be eased from the heels of ALFALINA as the latter had rolled outward. Approaching the 650m BAGOT’S MILL (App.C Abraham) lost considerable ground when it was eased of the heels of CHARIOTACRESS as the latter rolled outward, attention trainer. DEWETTA (App.C Maund) was inclined to hang outward rounding the home turn. CELENTO (G Whybrow) was held up for a run on entering the straight having to ease of the heels of ALFALINA at approx. the 250m. Routine swab of the winner CELENTO.

RACE 2: ENTERTAINMENT (R Morris) dwelt and was slow into stride. MERLEILA (P Gesler) jumped awkwardly. Jockey G Lynch (MISS UNITED) accidentally dropped his whip in the home straight. Routine swab of the winner ROKEBY TERRACE.

RACE 3: Connections of SALFORD LAD requested the gelding be ridden hands and heels only, granted. MARCUS AURELIUS (R Barone) was slow into stride. MASTER ROSS (App., C Maund) shifted outward approaching the 250m making contact with SHOUT WITH PRIDE (D Green) on at least two occasions, caution. Routine swab of the winner PERTINEAR.

RACE 4: GATE CRASH (P Stanley) jumped awkwardly inward inconveniencing SOUND MIGHTY (D Tarrant) which was slow into stride and shifted inward hampering MISS KELLY (G Whybrow) which was also slow into stride. Jockey D Tarrant (SOUNDS MIGHTY) was reprimanded when his mount shifted outward over the concluding stages inconveniencing GOLDEN BOOTS (B Powell) Stewards heard a protest second TOO EASY (K Sawyers) against first THE ORIENT EXPRESS (R Morris) for alleged interference at approx. the 800m, after hearing evidence from all parties the protest was dismissed, Jockey K Sawyers was reprimanded for lodging a protest which Stewards deemed border line frivolous, no further action. Routine swab of the winner THE ORIENT EXPRESS.

RACE 5: STEAMBOAT STAR (K Sawyers) jumped awkwardly inward coming in contact with MODIFY GOLD (R Hall). Routine swab of the winner (ANCIENT ROAD).
