RACE 1: DUGGANS AMCAL CHEMIST MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
Stewards declared ALEX’S PRINCESS a late scratching acting on veterinary advice at 12:30pm after the horse suffered an injury on route to the track.
BELLE SAGA was extremely slow to begin.
FIFTH AMENDMENT was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start IV’S CHANCE shifted out taking both NED’S GROUCH and FANCY BELLE wider on the track. Apprentice P Carroll the rider of IV’S CHANCE was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 200m, IV’S CHANCE shifted out under pressure forcing MAKISI out onto FIFTH AMENDMENT, which was forced to check, clip heels and blunder. Apprentice P Carroll was severely reprimanded for this incident. When assessing penalty stewards took into account Apprentice Carroll’s relative inexperience. Further more stewards drew this incident to the attention of Apprentice Carroll’s’ Master and to the Master of Apprentices.
RACE 2: THE DAILY NES COMMPRINT QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
Connection of JUST BE QUOZ, which refused to jumped, were advised that a further Barrier Certificate would be required prior to next start.
FOREVER ON EDGE was slow to begin.
Approaching the 900m, after being placed in restricted room between EXPRESS TRAVEL and DARING ANGEL, which had shifted in, DANE'S LADY was forced to check and shift out clipping the heels of DARING ANGEL when EXPRESS TRAVEL shifted out abruptly.
Leaving the 900m, both DARING ANGEL and HOLOGRAPHIC, shifted out, resulting in HOLOGRAPHIC being checked across the heels of SPARKLING ASCOT.
EXPRESS TRAVEL shifted out to obtain clear running, leaving the 200m, making contact with TYCOON SHINING.
C Rogers, the rider of SPARKLING ASCOT, accidentally dropped her whip over the concluding stages.
RACE 3: WATTLE BRAE STUD DOWNS SERIES/OLSENS PRODUCE CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M
TIMBALE shifted in at the start causing LET FLY to be tightened for room and lose ground.
Both STRAWBERRY KISSES and TOUCH OF MOOBALL were tightened for room at the start between BOLD TYCOON and RORY’S ROC, which jumped out.
STAWBERRY KISSES was forced to ease approaching the 800m when MUSTANG’S MATE shifted in.
MILLSTRIKE raced wide through out and shifted out abruptly under pressure during the early stages of the straight.
A protest was lodged by J McKinnon, the rider of the second placegetter MUSTANG’S MATE, against the winner RORY’S ROC, alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from both riders and viewing the patrol film the protest was dismissed.
RACE 4: WARWICK CREDIT UNION WARWICK CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1500M
As D Stanely was overweight B Calkin replaced him as the rider of DANU. D Stanley was subsequently fined the sum of $150.
REDINBURGH was slow to begin.
ELDWICK and ZEDSQUARE were both slowly into stride.
Approaching the 900m, DANU was forced to ease when CORD shifted in.
REDINBURGH made the home turn extremely wide.
Leaving the 200m, RANGERS, which was disappointed for a run to the inside of the tiring THY KINGDOM COME, was forced to shift out to obtain clear running.
RACE 5: WICKHAM FREIGHT LINES/P&O TRANS AUSTRALIA CLASS B H’CAP – 1100M
As D Stanley was overweight S Apthorpe replaced him as the rider of MISTER TEE CEE. D Stanley was subsequently fined the sum of $150.
HIAWATERS shifted out at the start hampering MISTER TEE CEE out onto BEST BE FRANK, which in turn shifted out onto GINOMISS, which also shifted out onto COMIQUE DREAM and HE’S NO GENTELMAN.
Leaving the 1000m, HIAWATERS shifted in and away from RIVER FEVER, severely hampering both FAIRLY BROKE and REFORM STUDENT. HIAWATERS continued to place pressure on both those runners despite the efforts of its rider until the 900m when REFORM STUDENT was severely checked and lost considerable ground.
RACE 6: QRSE GROSS WHOLESALE MEATS OPEN H'CAP – 800M
Due to transport difficulties KOOMERANG TOO was declared a late scratching at 4:20pm. Deductions of 16c on the face value of all win bets and 14c on the face value of all place bets were ordered.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
