RACE 1: STOCKYARD HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE – 800M

WEE JUDE and FINAL STATE were both slow to begin.

DECKOBAYA and JESSICA’S PRIDE were both slowly into stride.

Near the 500m, CAST ALLEY, which raced greenly through out, shifted in causing CERTAIN CIRCLES to be checked and lose considerable ground. JESSICA’S PRIDE, which was following shifted out abruptly to avoid that horses heels, and in doing so forced DISTINCTLY SWEET out onto ROCKET SPROCKET, which was forced to check from the heels of DECKOBAYA. Connections of CAST ALLEY were advised that a warning would be placed on that gelding, which was having its first start.

RACE 2: ROULSTON BUILDERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

MISTER PIERCE was slow to begin.

HAPPINESS ABOUND and BOLD ‘N’ RECKLESS were both tightened for room and lost ground at the start between REAL DODGY and LEGAL EDITION, which shifted in.

Connections of REGAL DARE, which attempted to buck shortly after the start and was then restrained from the race, were advised that the gelding would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to next start.

Near the 1000m, LEGAL EDITION, which was inclined to hang in through out, shifted in tightening the running of REAL DODGY, which was forced to check. LEGAL EDITION again shifted in near the 800m causing SHOW ME THE GREEN to be eased. R Hilton the trainer of LEGAL EDITION, which again shifted in under pressure near the 250m hampering BOLD ‘N’ RECKLESS, advised stewards that the gear change which was enacted for today’s race would be reversed prior to next start in an attempt to rectify the geldings racing manners. Stewards advised trainer R Hilton that a warning would be placed on the gelding.

Near the 400m, DRARGO shifted out making heavy contact with MONTE BOMBER, which was forced out onto EMPTY SKY. C Bumstead, the rider of DRARGO, was advised to exercise more care in simular circumstances.

K Hutchins, the rider of BEAUTIFUL KEA, was dislodged after passing the winning post following the saddle slipping on that gelding passing the 500m. Connection of BEAUTIFUL KEA, which hung out from the 800m were advised that the gelding would be required to barrier trial prior to next start.

RACE 3: HUDSONS SUPREEM PIES CLASS B H’CAP – 1100m

LHOTSE was slow to begin.

THE SPANIARD raced awkwardly during the early stages of the event.

LHOTSE was forced to ease near the 800m after improving to the inside of EASE THE FREEZE where there was insufficient room.

RACE 4: ASHDOWN INGRAM OPEN H’CAP – 1350M

TAKE A SHOT was slow to begin.

ARDOSH raced wide through out.

RACE 5: WARWICK FAMERS MARKETS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M

BOOFHEAD was slow to begin.

After being slow to begin, SUPER ROTATION was tightened for room between HALO BOY, which shifted in and ROYAL FLAIR, which shifted out.

M Sharpe, the rider of CALL ME ADAMS, became momentarily unbalance and lost her off side iron when that gelding blundered on jumping away.

An inquiry was adjourned in to the reasons for CALL ME ADAMS being checked near the 900m.

BOOFHEAD was held up for clear running approaching the 400m.
