SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As App. K Gates and App. S Egan were both indisposed, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary.


RACE 1: HORSE AND JOCKEY HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 800M-
1st-Twilights 2nd-Get Closer 3rd-Robdon Ramble 4th-Lightning Blue

As App. D McWhinney failed to arrive on course be the prescribed time to fulfil his engagement he was replaced as the rider of AZIMOV by App. R Murray. At a subsequent enquiry Stewards imposed a $100 fine against App. McWhinney for failing to fulfil his riding engagement.

LIGHTNING BLUE (M Abe), ASTROMAN (J Warrington), ROBDON RAMBLE (T Fujinuma) and FLAMETREE (G Geran) were all tightened for room at the start between GOODY FOUR SHOES (W Clasohm) and MAXINE (P Wolfgram) which jumped out. FLAMETREE lost ground when forced to check as a result of this incident.

AZIMOV (R Murray) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 600m, MAUVE LADY (S Bogenhuber) which was racing greenly, shifted in momentarily tightening the running MY MOLLIE MIA (N Yamada).

MAUVE LADY and GET CLOSER (L Appo) both raced wide throughout.

ASTROMAN shifted out abruptly when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.


RACE 2: ERGON ENERGY CLASS B H’CAP 1200M-
1ST-Auanne 2nd-Shumie Go 3rd-Lavendi 4th-Pink Gardenia

FREE NEAR FREE was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 12:05pm after Stewards were advised that the gelding was in fact racing at another venue. Trainer D Gollan was fined $200 for failing to scratch FREE NEAR FREE by the prescribed time.

Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer R Nicholson to allow PRINCE OF THIEVES to race in a tongue tie which was not apart of the gelding’s approved gear after Mr Nicolson gave an assurance that he had in fact lodged the said gear change prior to acceptance time. Stewards advised Mr Nicholson that a fine would be imposed if the Trainers Service Centre records fail to substantiate Mr Nicholson’s claim.

MATALAN (B Thomson) was very slow to begin. Stewards advised Trainer K Waller that a warning would be placed on MATALAN and a repeat performance may result in further action being taken.

LAVENDI (T Fujinuma) was hampered at the start by FRISCO AFFAIR (J Letherby) which was taken out by CARRY THE GIFT (K Ashton).

PINK GARDINIA (R Murray) over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

Near the 800m, LA BANDERA (A Merritt) was tightened for room and forced to ease when racing to the inside of STAR FORWARD (S Bogenhuber) which shifted in and away from MADAME BARTHOLDI (W Clasohm).

PINK GARDINIA and LA BANDERA made contact on a number of occasions over the concluding stages of the event.

STAR FORWARD raced wide throughout.

CARRY THE GIFT (K Ashton) which compounded over the concluding stages of the event, pulled up shortly after passing the winning post. App. K Ashton dismounted from CARRY THE GIFT and a short time later the gelding collapsed and died.


RACE 3: RAHEEN STUD MAIDEN PLATE 1350M-
1ST-Skeyana 2nd-Poetic Mistress 3rd-Dorothy’s Lad 4th-Little Flute

RHIDAN’S CHANT (L Appo) was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 2:30pm acting on Veterinary advice after the gelding reared over whilst being loaded into the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on RHIDAN’S CHANT be refunded with deductions of 12cents the win and 13cents the place to apply on all successful bets.

MY SWEET VALENTINE (B Thomson) was slow to begin.

SKEYANA (J Warrington) was tightened for room at the start between STONE RIVER (A Merritt) which jumped out and BOOGEEMAC (J Letherby) which jumped in.

LITTLE FLUTE (K Ashton) was hampered at the start between LOCHIEL LAD (N Yamada) which jumped out and POETIC MISTRESS (N Evans) which jumped in.

Shortly after the start, POETIC MISTRESS shifted out forcing DOROTHY’S LAD (J Murphy) wider on the track.

Near the 900m, STONE RIVER (A Merritt) was tightened for room and forced to check when racing to the inside of LOCHIEL LAD which shifted in despite the best efforts of its rider.

CHOICES (D McWhinney) raced wide throughout.

RACE 4: RUPERT’S BAR & GRILL CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1500M-
1st-Impersonator 2nd-Opulass 3rd-Markanyon 4th-Repo


MIGHTY DEVER (L Appo) was slow into stride.

HARDACTTOFOLLOW (W Clasohm) raced wide throughout.

MARKANYON (S Bogenhuber) raced wide until a point near the 800m.

App. R Murray (OPULASS) was fined $200 for striking her mount with the whip in the forehand manner in excess of the 5 permitted times prior to the 100m.


RACE 5: BARRY JONES RECOGNITION CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200M-
1ST-Flying Along 2nd-Tycoon Ken 3rd-Haylee Miss 4th-Tact

BEST OF CEEDEE (J Warrington) began very awkwardly losing significant ground.

When the pace of the race settled near the 900m, HAYLEE MISS (I Coombes) commenced to over race and was forced to steady from the heels of FLYING ALONG (K Ashton).

Near the 500m, FINAL OPINION (J Letherby) was tightened for room and forced to ease when racing between FLYING ALONG and EMDAYL (B Thomson) which shifted in and away from ONCE MORE BROTHER (M Abe).

ONCE MORE BROTHER raced wide throughout.
