RACE 1: R M WILLIAMS MAIDEN PLATE 800M-
1st-Grand Elegance 2nd-Boot Shaker 3rd-General Ascot 4th-Miss Taliah
As Jockey C Maund was to be overweight, he was replaced as the rider of MISS TALIAH by D Robinson. Jockey Maund was fined $100 for accepting the ride of MISS TALIAH when overweight.
RAPT IN SECRECY (D Sparks) and GET ‘EM GOIN’ (A Fancourt) both began awkwardly.
BOOT SHAKER (S Bogenhuber) began very awkwardly, shifted wider on the track and as a result lost ground. BOOT SHAKER then raced wide without cover throughout the event.
Shortly after entering the home straight GRAND ELEGANCE (C Eaton) was shifted out by its rider to obtain clear running when not completely clear of MARKED BRIDE (L Morrison) resulting the in runner having to be eased to avoid the heels of GRAND ELEGANCE. Jockey Eaton the rider of GRAND ELEGANCE was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
Near the 50m, MISS TALIAH (D Robinson) was forced to steady to avoid the heels of BOOT SHAKER (S Bogenhuber) which shifted in under hard riding. A short distance later MISS TALIAH was tightened for room between GENERAL ASCOT (J Letherby) which shifted out marginally and BOOT SHAKER which continued to shift in. Jockey Bogenhuber the rider of BOOT SHAKER was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
App. A Fancourt the rider of GET’EM GOIN’ was dislodged on pulling up a considerable distance after the winning post. As App. Fancourt was transported to hospital for observation, she will be interviewed about this incident at a later date.
RACE 2:WARWICK HOTEL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M-
1ST-Natural Mist 2nd-Lord Lion Heart 3rd-Town Dazzler 4th-Oh What A Deal
The start of this event was delayed 15mins whilst a replacement ambulance arrived at the track.
VILLAINOUS (A Taylor) was slow to begin.
BOLD PROSPECT (J Kehoe) was tightened for room at the start between HARD FASTA WONGA (S Apthorpe) and MASSIE BELLE (D Robinson) both of which shifted ground.
Shortly after the start I KISSED A GIRL (V Venkaya) was forced to ease to avoid the heels of NATURAL MIST (S Bogenhuber) which shifted in. I KISSED A GIRL then shifted out after becoming unbalanced inconveniencing LEN’S JOY (W O’Connell) and LITTLE VICTORIES (N Evans) which were both taken wider on the track. S Bogenhuber the rider of NATURAL MIST was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
Near the 800m, TOWN DAZZLER (N Nishio) was checked when attempting to obtain a run to the inside of HARDA FASTA WONGA (S Apthorpe) where in the opinion of Stewards there was doubtful room. App. Nishio was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.
LORD LION HEART (R Goltz) over raced during the early stages of the event.
LITTLE VICTORIES and BOLD PROSPECT both raced wide for the majority of the event.
RACE 3: GROSS WHOLESALE MEATS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M-
1ST-Shady Outfit 2nd-Banderin 3rd-Lion Beauty 4th-Coz He Wants To
App. N Nishio replaced A Fancourt as the rider of BANERIN.
COZ HE WANTS TO (T Wolfgram) was hampered at the start by BANDERIN (N Nishio) which jumped out.
SILVER TRUMP (B Powell) was slow to begin.
LION BEAUTY (N Evans) was tightened for room shortly after the start between STALWART PETRA (R Goltz) and SHADY OUTFIT (G Killen) both of which shifted ground.
REALEE (J Hoopert) which raced wide for the majority of the event hung out during the middle stages of the event.
COZ HE WANTS TO (T Wolfgram) had difficulty obtaining clear running during the early stages of the home straight and as a result was held up for a short distance.
RACE 4: WARWICK CREDIT UNION CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1500M-
1st-Zed Man 2nd-Blow A Kiss 3rd-Thegreatandthegood 4th-Jet Style
App. N Nishio was the replacement ride for THEGREATANDTHEGOOD.
ZED MAN (G Killen) was slow to begin.
Jockey D Robinson was fined $100 for striking BLOW A KISS with the whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of EMOTICON jockey A Best advised Stewards that EMOTICON settled in the 2nd half of the field as per the gelding’s customary racing pattern, however was positioned wide on the track with cover. Jockey Best added that the gelding did not feel entirely comfortable racing on the heavy track and when asked to improve into the race from the 600m, it failed to respond to his riding proved very disappointing in the run to the finish. Trainer M Webb also expressed disappointment in the performance of EMOTICON and indicated that he will now freshen the gelding prior to its next start at which point he will review its current preparation. Subsequent to the event Mr Webb reported to Stewards that EMOTICON had sustained a black eye during the event consistent with being struck with a clod. Stewards noted both explanations.
RACE 5: WARWICK VETERINARY CLINIC CLASS B H’CAP 1100M-
1st-Steel To The Heel 2nd-Carry The Swag 3rd-Dancing Al 4th-Raku Tu
ILLUDE (J Kehoe) began awkwardly.
FORTUITOUS BLADE (G Killen) began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
MONDE BIJOU (J Hoopert) blundered shortly after the start when positioned close to the heels of AFFIRMATIVE (T Wolfgram) which shifted out.
AFFIRMATIVE raced wide during the early stages of the event.
Near the 850m, ILLUDE (J Kehoe) shifted out and became awkwardly placed at the heels of MONDE BIJOU and was forced to steady.
RACE 6: FRASERS LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT NEWMARKET OPEN H’CAP 1100M-
1st-Daytime Dazzler 2nd-Tycoon’s Pride 3rd-Seen Im 4th-Inventory
INVENTORY (A Taylor) and TYCOON’S PRIDE (S Apthorpe) both began awkwardly.
Jockey C Kearney was reprimanded for using his whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Is assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Kearney’s good record in relation to this rule.
Jockey S Apthorpe was reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
