RACE 1. PAUL MURPHY ELECTRICAL / HAYMANS ELECTRICAL Maiden 800m

BODEGA BAY , SPATHONIS & MOOLAH MISS were late scratchings at 1.05pm following a float breakdown.

CHOSEN COURT ( R Goltz ) was slow to jump and veered in on jumping away.

EVERINGHAM ( B Stower) jumped awkwardly and hung out throughout .

ROSE OF THE WEST ( G Killen ) moved out at 150m brushing LONSFORD ( S Apthorpe ) .

LONSFORD tended to shift out last 100m.

Jockey R Goltz was questioned regarding the performance of odds on favourite CHOSEN COURT. Jockey Goltz felt that the mare may not have backed up from her run last Saturday and raced flat in the straight and did not quicken. Explanation noted.

RACE 2. KARDINA HOLDINGS ( D L & B M WEST ) SHELLEYS INDUSTRIES Class. 2 HCP 1100 m

MIM was a late scratching at 1.40pm due to float breakdown.

CANSHEBEE ( S APTHORPE ) was slow to jump.

TENT HARMONY ( B Stower ) contacted the barrier on jumping out. A post race veterinary examination reported that TENT HARMONY sustained superficial wounds to the near side hind hock & fetlock .

On jumping away RUSTIC PLAY ( N Evans ) moved out crowding CAPTAIN INVINCIBLE ( A Taylor ) which jumped awkwardly and dipped. CAPTAIN INVINCIBLE then moved out contacting DWAN ( S Bogenhuber) .

From the 500m DWAN which was travelling strongly, was held up was eased from the heels of RUSTIC and TENT HARMONY. On the home turn DWAN was switched out abruptly to gain clear running and shifted ground under pressure.


RACE 3. TRADIES DAY. Maiden HCP 1350

NOT PERMITTED ( B STOWER ) was unruly behind the barriers. On loading NOT PERMITTED reared over and was subsequently inspected and passed to race by the Veterinarian . Trainer B Hudson directed to obtain a barrier certificate prior to NOT PERMITTED racing again.

MATAWIN ( A Fancourt ) jumped out on to NOT PERMITTED.

STAR SEQUALO ( R Johnson-Bell ) contacted TIDE MOON ( N Evans ) on jumping away.

TIDE MOON shifted out very wide on the home turn.

Jockey G Geran reported that MORVEN was held up from the 600m but was very one paced down the running. Jockey G Geran was reprimanded for having to be prompted to weigh in on second placed MORVEN .

RACE 4. ROSE CITY CONCRETE PUMPING BENCHMARK 55 HCP 1350M

CYRANO ( F Elliot ) was slowly away and then over raced in the early stages.

CRAFTYS LAST ( A Fancourt ) was slow into stride.

At the start ZEDARK ( N Yamada ) veered out and BALLYBUNION (D McIntosh ) jumped inwards crowding BAMBOO HOUSE ( R Johnson – Bell ) and HARKAWAY HOUSE ( A Taylor ).

MARY GO ROUND ( J Letherby )raced wide in the middle stages.

Jockey C Maund questioned regarding performance of market favourite PARAFIRE. Jockey Maund said that the stable was confident that the mare would race well. He added that he able to obtain a position outside the leader but his mount would not relax and was left exposed when the leader weakened before the home turn. PARAFIRE then did not go to the line as strongly as expected. Explanation noted.

RACE 5. NATIONAL JOCKEYS TRUST BENCHMARK 70 HCP 1350M

ALBION ( N Evans ) hung out when placed under pressure.

Trainer W Nugent was questioned regarding the improved performance of KINGS SHILLING ( N Yamada ).Mr Nugent said that the gelding had worked well since its last run and was aided by a senior rider and a 4.5 kg weight relief from its last start. He Nugent further added that KINGS SHILLING’S performance was also aided by racing in the very small field. Stewards noted the explanations.
