Kuskopf was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to it racing again.
TURBO TEDDY – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse raced midfield. Lost its off fore plate in running.
MISS TYPIN – Tightened for room and bumped heavily at the start.
Race 3: FREESTONE FEEDLOT MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M
The start was delayed when MAGIC DRAGON, which became fractious in the barriers, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and deemed fit to start. As a result of damage caused to the front gate, this barrier was unable to be used, which resulted in MAGIC DRAGON, ISIS ANGEL and BLETCHY BOY all shifting out one barrier.
MONSIEUR HUGHES – Began awkwardly and shifted in. After being caught wide in the early stages the horse was ridden forward and assumed a position outside the leader leaving the 800m.
BLETCHY BOY – Raced wide throughout.
ISIS ANGEL – Tightened at the start and lost ground.

SECRET OF THE ROCK – Steadied to avoid heels near the 900m and shifted wider on the track.
VEGAS LUCK – Shifted out over the concluding stages. When questioned as to the improved performance, trainer’s representative Mr S. Clarke advised that at the horse’s first two starts at Warwick and Clifton it raced greenly throughout the event. Mr Clarke added that for today’s event the blinkers were removed and the mare was stepped up in distance, which it was felt would be to the horse’s benefit, and based on its work in preparation for today’s event, a forward showing was expected.
BOMBAY ROCK – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer S. Iverson was advised that the horse will be required to barrier trial prior to racing again. Mr Iverson indicated that it is now the intention that the horse will leave his stable.
Race 5: RAY BUNCH MACHINERY CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1500M
LOOK AT ANYTHING – Stewards questioned apprentice E. Ljung in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance. Apprentice Ljung stated that the mare began well and obtained a forward position, customary with its racing pattern, however from the 900m the horse came off the bit and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Lost its off hind plate in running.
O’GRADY – After being caught wide, apprentice J. Greacen allowed her mount to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the rails leaving the 800m.
ROYALTOWN ROAD – Placed 3rd, protested against 2nd placegetter HANDFUL OF SILVER, alleging interference over the final 100m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, stewards found that at a point approaching the 100m HANDFUL OF SILVER did shift out, however did not directly impede the running of ROYALTOWN ROAD at that point. Stewards further found that over the final 50m of the event both runners shifted wider on the track of their own accord and therefore stewards could not be satisfied that any inconvenience suffered by ROYALTOWN ROAD was attributable to HANDFUL OF SILVER and therefore dismissed the objection.
ZAHASEA – Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: OLSENS PRODUCE/FREESTONE FEEDLOT RQ SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES BM75 H'CAP – 1350M

PARAFIRE – Raced wide throughout.
Race 7: BLUE CHIP ACCOUNTING RATINGS BAND 0-62 H'CAP – 1200M
Trainer D. Murray was fined $100 for failing to produce the identification card for CYRANO.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, connections of HIGH DEGREE, which was placed 3rd by the Judge, requested to view the photo finish print for 2nd. At this time stewards were informed by the Judge that the photo finish system had failed and therefore no print was available. The judging panel added that in conjunction with their live observations of the finish of the race, they reviewed the official patrol footage to assist them in determining the finishing order. Trainer R. Smith subsequently lodged an objection against the placing’s made by the judges and made submissions that her horse should have been placed 2nd. Stewards, after hearing submissions from the judging panel, Ms Smith and Mr Baker, the trainer of the 2nd placed horse RUM TUM TUGGER, gave consideration to the matter. Stewards, acting under AR. 154(3), could not be satisfied on the available evidence that the Judges had made a mistake in the determination of the finishing order of the race and therefore confirmed the Judge’s decision and declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored.
RUM TUM TUGGER – Jumped away awkwardly.
