WEATHER – FINE TRACK – FAST RAIL –N/A

RACE 1: OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP – 800 METRES

TIME FLIES was slow away. Shortly after the start MR W SEATON the rider of MODEL WALKER lost the use of his near side iron, thus placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

RACE 2: MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

Both SIMPLY NINA and LIZZIE’S PICK were slow away resulting in both horses loosing considerable ground. MR F ATHERTON the rider of CREOLASCA was dislodged from his mount shortly after passing the winning post when that filly shifted out abruptly. MR F. ATHERTON was not injured in this incident.

All horses were very fractious at the starting point, thus delaying the start of the race. When a start was eventually effected NIP OF BRONZE lost considerable ground when the horse was slow into stride.

RACE 7: OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP – 1600 METRES

Stewards granted approval for MR F. ATHERTON to replace MR W SEATON as the rider for PRISSY’S CHARM. Both COUNT RUSH and PRISSY’S CHARM required the assistance of the Clerk of the Course after arriving at the starting point. The Clerk of the Course then required the assistance of the Starter also after arriving at the starting point when his mount also became fractious. As a consequence the start of this race was delayed for quite some considerable time. After crossing the finishing line, MR F ATHERTON the rider of the second place getter PRISSY’S CHARM became dislodged as a result of the saddle shifting. Mr. F ATHERTON was examined by the Ambulance Attendant but was uninjured in this incident. Stewards acting under the powers of AR142 declared correct weight on the Judge’s final placings in the absence of MR F. ATHERTON.
