GYPSY STORM (J. Murphy) which was slow to begin, made contact with RIB TICKLER (L. Appo) on jumping.

PUSSY LALA (C.Kearney) began awkwardly.

STRICTLY FLAMENCO (App. D. McWhinney) and PUSSY LALA raced wide for the majority of the event.

The rider of OUTONHEROWN (J. Kehoe) reported that his saddle shifted slightly near the 600m.

OUTONHEROWN and BRENNEN (D.Gill) were both tightened over the concluding stages between RORYSDANCINGSTAR (M. Heagney) and HE’S NO SAINT (R. Hancock) which shifted in. Jockey R. Hancock was issued with a reprimand and advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances.

OUTONHEROWN bled both nostrils during the race. Trainer G. Teal was advised that the mare will now incur a mandatory 3 month bar from racing under AR53A(4).

Race 5: Proston – Kumbia QTIS Maiden Plate 1465m

1st: Secret Will 2nd: Proscenium 3rd: Less Is More 4th: Jacta Alea Esto

VISONA GOLD (App. D. McWhinney) was tightened on jumping between ROCKNABIL (B. Abbey) and JACTA ALEA ESTO (App. S. Wiseman) which shifted in. A short distance later SECRET WILL (D. Gill), ROCKNABIL and VISONA GOLD were tightened between WHIZMA (L. Appo) and JACTA ALEA ESTO, which continued to shift in.

A short distance after the start, App. S. Wiseman, the rider of JACTA ALEA ESTO, reported her saddle shifted forward, resulting in her losing her irons, placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

PROSCENIUM (J. Murphy) raced wide for the majority of the event.

App. D. McWhinney, the rider of VISONA GOLD, reported that after being tightened at the start, the mare resented the kickback from today’s surface and despite his riding refused to stretch out, resulting in the mare being positioned some distance from the field during the middle stages. He added that when placed under further pressure from the 600m, the mare responded and finished the race off well.

Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey B. Abbey, the rider of ROCKNABIL, which performed below market expectations. He stated that after being tightened at the start, the gelding travelled well, but in his opinion failed to handle the rise in distance of today’s race. He further added that consideration would now be given to giving the horse a freshen up. Stewards noted the explanation.
