GENERAL : As M Unwin was indisposed the following replacements were permitted.
RACE 1 THE ROAN RANGER : G Evans
RACE 2 IT ALL ADDS UP : T Mathieson

RACE 1 MAIDEN H’CAP – 900 METRES (9 STARTERS)
Stewards allowed jockey M Goodwin to ride CHIEF HARMONY ½ KG overweight when no other rider was available. CHIEF HARMONY after being slow to begin shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of THE ROAN RANGER and lost further ground.

RACE 2 CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000 METRES (9 STARTERS)
MRS DENVER was declared a late scratching acting on veterinary advice after that filly became fractious in the barrier stalls. On declaration of correct weight all monies invested on MRS DENVER were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions of 6 cents on the win value of the ticket and 7 cent on the place value of the ticket applied. A O’Sullivan trainer of MRS DENVER was advised the filly must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to her next race start.

RACE 3 CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1100 METRES (4 STARTERS)
No racing incidents

RACE 4 CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1200 METRES (7 STARTERS)
As M Goodwin was to be overweight C Beets was substituted as the rider of ST. COLUMBANS. Subsequently M Goodwin was fined the sum of $200 under the terms of AR120(B) for being overweight. Shortly after the start PRINCESS GOLD shifted out and made contact with BAY BEAUTY. Approaching the first turn DAMASCUS CALLING shifted out taking LADY LONG LEGS wider on the track.

RACE 5 OPEN H’CAP – 1200 METRES (10 STARTERS)
Approaching the 200 metres LOKIE’S COURAGE had to be steadied of the heels of YALLAH’S POLONAISE which shifted out to obtain clear running. M Goodwin rider of YALLAH’S POLONAISE was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Apprentice H Watanabe rider of MY KING pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift in inside the 200 metres when not clear of BRILYNTON which resulted in that horse being taken in onto ATHENE’S STAR causing both horses to be checked. Apprentice H Watanabe’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 2 meetings to commence at midnight Tuesday the 22nd of April and expire at midnight Sunday the 27th of April. ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
