With only 6 jockeys available permission was granted for the following overweights.
Race 1 LOCHART T Austin +2kg
Race 3 S’AMUSER T Austin +2kg

RACE 1: MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000m
BLAZCAYTE jumped outwards and hung for some time inconveniencing SILVER THOUGHTS which had drawn on its outside.
Approaching the 800m corner FIERY PATCH attempted to hang in and had to be restrained to stop it crossing to the inside of the track.

RACE 2: CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000m
As the gates opened SWAPPED collided with the off side gate causing T Austin to damage his riding boot and bruise his ankle. Club was instructed to check all gates to see that their were no protrusions which could injure horses and riders.

RACE 3: OPEN H'CAP – 1200m
I’M A TELESTO was scratched as no rider was available.
As the gates opened Shane Oates struck the gates damaging his right boot. ARTIC LANCE struck the gates causing R McMaster to tear his left boot and suffer severe bruising to his left ankle. He was compelled to forego his last 2 mounts due to the injury. The club was advised that action must be taken to make the gates safer for riders and horses by removing or padding the wire mesh on the gates or by sheeting them with metal plate.
Approaching the 800m DOGON rolled in onto BOLD COUNTY bumping it momentarily and causing it to strike the hindquarters of S’AMUSER causing that horse to shift out slightly. MR. SOLO eased in the incident. J Kehoe, the rider of DOGON, was warned to keep his mounts straight.
