Jockey J Orman advised that the gelding travelled comfortably in the leading position in today’s event however when placed under pressure failed to quicken as he expected and ran on only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.

Raced three-wide with cover for the majority and approaching the 600m when racing ungenerously, was checked from heels. Near the 200m was tightened for room and checked when racing between FIFTEEN ROUNDS which shifted out after being taken out marginally by PRAIRIE FIRE and SAVVY LAD which shifted in. As stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the incident could be attributed to any one rider, stewards ruled the matter to be a racing incident.
