Raced wide in the early and middle stages but was able to cross and lead approaching the 1000m. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted on the gelding, Jockey T. Marshall stated that he intended to settle midfield in today’s event but after being trapped wide in the early stages and with his mount racing fierce, he elected to push forward and lead. He added that once he was able to obtain the lead his mount failed to settle and rather than continue to restrain his mount he elected to allow his mount to stride.
