When asked to comment, rider stated the gelding began only fairly and as a consequence settled at the rear of the field. Jockey further stated when asked for an effort at the 500m, the gelding responding only fairly and felt flat and subsequently proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised he will report back to Stewards if anything comes to light in the coming days to explain the performance.
