Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from one nostril. Trainer K. Kemp was advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming racing.
Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground. After being caught wide in the back straight, the horse was restrained to a reazrward position to obtain cover leaving the 800m. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 100m.
Connections advised that it would be the intention for the horse to be ridden further forward in the field today if circumstances permit. After beginning well, the mare was caught wide in the early stages and, as a result, was restrained to a position closer to the rail in the second half of the field.
