Punter's Guide to Thoroughbred Tracks
The team at Puntersland have cast their eyes over last week’s heats and have highlighted the greyhounds that stamped themselves as key contenders to claim Australia’s richest maiden series.
Femme Folle announced herself as a serious contender when winning her heat by 7.75 lengths. She was the fastest heat winner in 30.25 which isn’t too far off the track record. Given it was just her second start, that’s outstanding!
Trainer: Tom Tzouvelis

Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Ips 520 (G3) H 520m
Hara’s Stevo will take improvement from his debut run. He began quickly but unfortunately weakened in the run home to finish second. Early speed is a blessing and this guy possesses it in abundance.
Trainer: Mike Stephenson
Quickest Time Track and Distance: 31.06
Brandi Alexander showed a real liking for the 520m when stepping up to the distance for the first time. She began quickly and proved too strong for her rivals, winning by 6.25 lengths. She will improve on that.
Starts: 3 Wins 1 @ 33%
Quickest Time Track and Distance: 30.62
Strong at both ends of the race
Bad Neighour overcame the awkward box 5 with a quick start to win her heat in 30.80. Given it was her debut run, she should be improved going into the semi-finals.
Trainer: Evelyn Harris
Starts 1: Wins 1 @ 100%

Fernando Bonus was an impressive 7.25 length heat winner in the quick time of 30.34. He mustered speed early and was never headed in a powerful display.
Starts 3: Wins 1 @ 33%
Quickest Time Track and Distance: 30.34
Joker Joker finished second in her heat to Femme Folle in a time of 30.80. She flew the lids but unfortunately ran wide in the first turn. She’s a chance at odds if she can control her speed early.
Trainer: Jason Stuhmcke
Quickest Time Track And Distance: 30.80
Give It Some was checked several times during her heat so to finish third and just a length off the winner was a good effort. She can certainly improve off that run.
Trainer: Tony Apap
Quickest Time Track and Distance: 30.89
Bago Bye Bye entered this series with big wraps following reports that he was flying in trials prior to his debut. It’s hard to argue given the way he overcame trouble early and almost catching the lure in the back straight.
Trainer: Darren Russell
Starts 1: Wins 1 @100%
Quickest Time Track and Distance: 30.77
Rose Honey was solid on debut when finishing second to Fernando Bonus in 30.85. She began well but raced wide at times so there’s definitely room for improvement.
