Form Analysis: Albion Park 15 Jun

RACE ONE

DATSGOOD (1)
will find this more suitable than her last start in the Redcliffe Oaks when too far back and with a slick closing tempo up front couldn’t eat into the deficit. Runner-up her previous 2 including when grabbed on the line by STATEMENT PLEASE, she gets every chance to open her season.

ACT OF VALOR (5) finds himself in Qld lining up for his 4th trainer at start 12. Last seen at Kilmore back in March, his run 2 back at Yarra Valley was a sound effort when facing the breeze. Given 1 local trial there was plenty to like about the way he dug in and he stays under a market watch.

GRIZZLY MONTANA (4) was well back in the pack on Tues and found the line in good order to be 10m from LILAC FLASH. That followed a wide run at Redcliffe when only 6m away and he is in the mix.

TORI MAY (2) lines-up for Jack Butler for the 1st time and steps out for the 1st time in over 12 months. Given 2 trials to prepare, she can drop to the pegs early for a cosy trip.

SELECTIONS: DATSGOOD (1), ACT OF VALOR (5), GRIZZLY MONTANA (4), TORI MAY (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (3) will appreciate getting back to the front line after starting from the 2nd line at Redcliffe at his past 2. Qualifying for the Sales final with a tough run when sent forward to the breeze, he made a sustained run from back in the field and then just peaked too early. This suits.

ARK ME (7) ran REGULUS to a 2m margin in the Redcliffe Sales Final and was closing hard after landing a perfect run in transit. Starting from gate 5 last start she proved too good in finishing over the top and despite the tough alley here will be right in the fight.

GODDESS JUJON (6) landed a tough Redcliffe win from the breeze when sent forward from gate 5. Her run on Monday when working hard outside GINGER MICKY was a top effort and she can feature again.

SPECIAL RESERVE (4) found the line in good style after being exposed in the breeze and chased hard before zipping back to the passing lane to arrive on the wire to score over SAINT KILDA BEACH.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (3), ARK ME (7), GODDESS JUJON (6), SPECIAL RESERVE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (3) to win

RACE THREE

MAMMALS MAGIC (5) makes her debut for Jack Butler and arrives a last start 3rd to TIM MCGEE who has since franked that with another strong win at Peak Hill. 3 starts back she held on for the silver when leading them up of gate 5 and with the speed to find a handy spot can go close 1st up.

MOTU REAL STYLE (1) will strip fitter for her return to the track last start when claiming the silver after using the passing lane to get within 2m of the winner ZALTA. Releasing the front on that occasion she can follow similar tactics here and will be ready to take the last shot.

MISTA NATURAL (3) pressed ahead to find the front and the effort was good when 3rd to the flying SLICE OF HEAVEN 2 starts back. Forget his latest run when striking trouble, he can go close here.

THUNDER MAC (10) took them all the way here 5 starts back and has had his runs spaced since that effort. Too far back in the run last start he can be looking to work into the contest here.

SELECTIONS: MAMMALS MAGIC (5), MOTU REAL STYLE (1), MISTA NATURAL (3), THUNDER MAC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MAMMALS MAGIC (5) to win

RACE FOUR

JUSTABITLIKEMUM (2)
is knocking on the door of another win and has placed in 3 starts since her last win when pressing on to the front from a 30m impost to take control and score. Grabbed late by SCORCHED last start, she can be 1st to the pegs here and will look to dictate terms.

OLE SUN (3) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when taking inside runs and finding the line in good style behind SCORCHED. He was doing his best work late when NO TRANSACTIONS scored 2 starts back and from this tape can slot in behind for the cosy trip and be sprinting late.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (7) worked home strongly from back in the field to grab the bronze behind SOUTHERN ALPS 2 starts back and then worked hard in the run last start. If he can limit the work he can challenge.

SOUTHERN ALPS (11) was closing strongly last start to get within 4m of the winner. That followed a good win off the 30m when charging home late and arriving on the line to score. He will swooping late again.

SELECTIONS: JUSTABITLIKEMUM (2), OLE SUN (3), NORTHERN MUSCLE (7), SOUTHERN ALPS (11)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTABITLIKEMUM (2) to win

RACE FIVE

RUHTREBO (2) was a solid winner over the 2138m trip 2 starts back when spearing out from gate 6 to find the front and controlled the speed to score. Given a shot in the Redcliffe Derby last start he held the bronze behind the star COLT THIRTY ONE. He will be looking to dominate here.

DARKERSSHADEOFPALE (7) was 1st up in Qld in the Redcliffe Oaks when dropped to the pegs and ran home fairly behind SOCIABLE. She has no favours from the gate here but will take good benefit from the Oaks when 1st up from a spell. Look for a sharper effort here.

ITSMEGS (4) has been in the money at 4 runs back this prep and last start was working in the run outside the leader and went within a nose of the win. Only 4m from RUHTREBO 2 starts back she is in the mix.

BRONSKI MACKENZIE (3) speared out to the front from gate 4 last start and was setting a solid tempo when gunned down by PATERNITY SUIT. From this gate she will be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: RUHTREBO (2), DARKERSSHADEOFPALE (7), ITSMEGS (4), BRONSKI MACKENZIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RUHTREBO (2) to win

RACE SIX

PSYCHEDELIC (3)
wasn’t entirely suited here on Tuesday in a small field where he moved 3 wide to get forward and then ended up in the breeze for the last 1000m. Looming up to hit the front with 200m to run he couldn’t see it out. He can look to settle with cover here and taking a closing shot can bounce back.

NUI TOC TIEN (7) has the wide gate to overcome yet has been in nice touch at his past 2 runs the latest when peeling to the outside from the pocket trail to sprint home to a nice win. That followed an eye-catching 3rd to OUTLAW FELLA and with even luck from the gate will look for a late flurry.

ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (1) lands his best gate opportunity for some time and with good early speed will have the options. Luckless last start when having to snag back for position, look for a closer result here.

CHAPTER ONE (4) will strip fitter following his latest start when returning from a break and hitting the line in good order to be 7m from the winner SOMEPARTYSOMEHWERE. There was plenty of upside to that effort and he will be worth following.

SELECTIONS: PSYCHEDELIC (3), NUI TOC TIEN (7), ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (1), CHAPTER ONE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: PSYCHEDELIC (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

ROCK WITH SAM (4) took on a 2138m qualifier last start and was charging home in the closing stages to get within 2m of LIVING AGAIN. Finding the pocket trail from gate 3 here 2 starts back he took the passing lane and finished hard to score a stylish win. Settling handy here he looks hard to hold out.

ALPHA STYX (2) will be 1st up from a break and returns to Qld for visiting NSW trainer Chris Frisby. Last seen when fading out in a sizzling 1.52.4 rate at Bathurst, he has trialled 3 times to prepare for his return. A back-to-back Albion Park winner prior to his last start, he will give this a shake.

PROFICIENT (5) is in great touch and was closing out strongly last start when 3m from ROCK WITH SAM. 2 starts back he was 8m from the flying INVINCIBLE LOXTON and will be storming home here.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (8) will need his share of luck from the gate but if able to scout an opening in time will be charging home. Only 2m from THE GUN ROCKSTAR last start he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (4), ALPHA STYX (2), PROFICIENT (5), SUBTLE DELIGHT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAJOR KIWI (2) is the form claimer at present and last start landed his 5th successive win in this class. Finding the pocket trail from gate 3 at Redcliffe he was too zippy up the passing lane to score a 3m victory. From the good gate he can settle handy and is every chance to make it 6 in a row.

STIRLING WILLIAM (4) took on the Redcliffe Cup last start and following inside runs held on to claim the bronze behind CONSTANTLYSIDEWAYS. Only beaten a head 2 starts back behind THE SHADY ONE he should appreciate the return to claiming company and will throw down a strong challenge.

SICILIAN SLUMBER (1) looked to take them all the way last start from gate 2 and was only grabbed late up the passing lane by MAJOR KIWI. Lining up for Mark Rees here after being claimed last start he will be right in the fight.

MONARKMAC (11) was closing out strongly last start at Redcliffe from a 2nd line gate when 3m from MAJOR KIWI. Not beaten far in recent starts, look for him working home strongly where he is some hope if they go too hard in front.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR KIWI (2), STIRLING WILLIAM (4), SICILIAN SLUMBER (1), MONARKMAC (11)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-4-11

RACE NINE

TROUBLESOME DAVE (4)
made a good impression at his Qld debut when finding the pegs and then releasing and finishing best to sprint clear to a big 15m victory. He steps up here but with the gate advantage over his main rivals he can look to build on the last start victory.

NONE BETTOR (11) is given no favours from the gate as he looks to make it a hat-trick of victories. His win 2 starts back came from gate 10 when saved for 1 run and finished over the top while last start he rolled forward from gate 6 and was too strong from the breeze. He will fighting hard again.

THE HARLEM HAMMER (6) has the wide gate to overcome but is racing in good touch. Last start at Redcliffe she worked hard in the run when an 8m 3rd to IOWNATURBO. Versatile she won’t be far away.
GLENFERRIE DUSTER (1) gets back into the main draw after doing things wrong 3 starts back that saw him banished. With a cosy trip from the gate he can look to sprint hard when the gaps appear.

SELECTIONS: TROUBLESOME DAVE (4), NONE BETTOR (11), THE HARLEM HHAMMER (6), GLENFERRIE DUSTER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TROUBLESOME DAVE (4) to win
