OUR MAJOR DAY (5) has won 3 of his past 4 starts and is racing in great form at present. Last start at Armidale he was sent to the breeze and was too powerful to grind out a half-head win. Gunned down here 2 starts back after working hard, he can look to roll forward here and show his strength.
PADRISIMO (4) sailed home from the clouds here 2 starts back over the 1780m trip to arrive for the most impressive of wins. Last start he did plenty of work wide off the track when chasing home OUR MAJOR DAY after starting from the 2nd line. With even luck look for him swooping home hard.
EVERYTHING (6) can do his share of work and might look to roll across in the early stages to get handy. Luckless last start from the 2nd line when probing for a gap that never opened he can podium in this.
PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (2) was hitting the line strongly here 2 starts back to grab the silver behind SIR JULIAN. Beaten by the barrier last start at Marburg he can hustle early and will be in the mix.
SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (5), PADRISIMO (4), EVERYTHING (6), PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (5) to win
TED WEST (1) has been racing well from bad gates and here on Tues was hitting the line in good order behind the all-the-way winner KEY LARGO. His run 2 starts back at Marburg was strong off the 2nd line when driving late to get within a nose of victory and from the improved gate gets his chance.
MY ULTIMATE FELLA (3) did all the heavy lifting in the same race as TED WEST on Tues and went down swinging to be a half-neck from the winner. That followed a nice effort when wide off the track and chasing home gamely behind RICH VIRGIN. From the gate he will be right in the fight.
ONE WISE MAN (2) will take benefit from his latest run when returning from a break. Snagged back from gate 6 he was hitting the line in good fashion behind ANOTHER BROADWAY. He can feature.
HEZ RAZOR SHARP (7) should enjoy the perfect trip here and will be ready to take his shot when the gaps arrive. He closed out in good order on Tues and can chime into the exotics.
SELECTIONS: TED WEST (1), MY ULTIMATE FELLA (3), ONE WISE MAN (2),HEZ RAZOR SHARP (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TED WEST (1) to win
MANDY KRIDEN (6) has the tough gate to negotiate and she did overcome this same alley last time out. In career best form she has been a 4-time winner and 2-time runner-up at her past 6 starts and last start settled at the rear before launching a well-timed run to arrive. With similar tactics she can swoop over the top.
ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (3) will be further tightened from his latest outing when having his 3rd run back from a spell. A winner in strong time when 2nd up at the non-TAB meeting here on Cup day, he grabbed the bronze behind ELENIARK last start. With good early speed he will be in the mix.
FOURS ENUF TAS (1) was able to find the front here 3 starts back and taking control held on to score by 4m. His run at Armidale 2 starts back was solid and on the back-up from Armidale on Thursday will be suited from the ace gate.
ALWAYS MY MATE (5) found the line in good style last start when 4m from the winner YOUNG AMERICAN. A winner here 4 starts back when sprinting hard from the running line he can chime in late again here.
SELECTIONS: MANDY KRIDEN (6), ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (3), FOURS ENUF TAS (1), ALWAYS MY MATE (5)
NONE BETTOR (2) wasn’t suited off the 2nd line last start yet was still hitting the line hard and running some nice closing splits to be 4m from the winner. Not far from LILAC FLASH the start prior he has the speed to find the pegs here and in front his preferred pattern he will be hard to stop.
CANKICKATARGET (1) will strip fitter from his latest start when 1st up since returning to Qld. 3 starts back he was a Parkes winner when racing wide off the track and then wasn’t suited from a wide gate when snagged back at Bathurst. His last run was full of merit and with a cosy trip can be poised.
LEXUS ON THE BEACH (4) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts and been less than 2m from the winner on each occasion. Working in the breeze last start he might need to work again here but can feature.
DARBY BRIGHTS (3) didn’t have things go her way last start when snagged back to find position and then the tempo didn’t allow her to run on. That followed a tough win in a mares qualifier and she has place hopes here.

SUGGESTED BET: NONE BETTOR (2) to win
MAKO BANNER (1) was after the hat-trick here last start when landing gate 10. Racing wide his sectional profile was slick as he was hitting the line strongly to be 7m from the winner MATCH POINT. He led throughout here 2 starts back off gate 5 and from the gate will look to dictate.
BODHI TREE (2) added another placing to his tally last start when running some strong closing splits to get within a half-neck of the winner MATCH POINT. That followed a tidy effort behind AMAJORJO when again closing strongly and with the right run in transit from this alley will be sprinting hard.

SUGGESTED BET: MAKO BANNER (1) to win
THE IDES OF MARCH (1) took them all the way to win a Band 5 race here 4 starts back after starting from this same gate over this trip. A tough run when sent forward from gate 6 followed and he was only 2m from the winner JANUARY. Grabbed by the airborne LILAC FLASH last start he can take them all the way this time.
FRANCO TOTEM (5) has no favours from this gate but with some up front tempo he might be able to save himself for a closing play. That proved a successful pattern here 3 starts back when he sat back in the pack off the 2nd line and then swooped home to score. Hitting the line nicely last start he can be there again.
LIKEALLOFUS (7) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts and been less than 2m from the winner on each occasion. With another cosy trip on the cards here he will be coiled and ready for the snipers shot.

SELECTIONS: THE IDES OF MARCH (1), FRANCO TOTEM (5), LIKEALLOFUS (7), TOP TRIO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IDES OF MARCH (1) to win
ARGYLE BEACH (9) sat back early off the 2nd line last start and when asked to make her sprint let down strongly to arrive for the win by a head margin. Narrowly beaten over the marathon trip at Marburg 2 starts back, she is a classy mare on the up and only needs the slightest luck to arrive.
MIGHT AND MAIN (2) wasn’t suited last week from gate 10 and was too far back in the run to get into the contest. That made it successive starts where she had drawn outside the 2nd line and moving into gate 2 here is a huge advantage. With good early speed she can look to find the pegs and dictate.
BELLIGERENCE (1) was 1st up in Qld last start when sent to the post as fav off the 2nd line. Striking some trouble in the run she was a long way off them. Fitter for the run and the improved gate she can feature.
SHARDS HALO (5) has caught the eye in both Qld starts to date when making strong closing metres. With no favours from the gate she will need to be swooping hard again but is worth following.

SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (9) to win
LILAC FLASH (6) continued on his winning way last week to make it 11 wins in his past 14 starts and remain undefeated here on the triangle after 4 attempts. 3 of those wins have been off this same gate when taken back early and then charging home to score. Running home in slick panels last week he can go again.
POLISHED ROCKS (1) should appreciate the ace after facing some wider gates in recent outings. He did his share of work last start and wasn’t too far way which followed a tidy effort behind MAKO BANNER. His run 3 starts back was good and with the ace gate has the options to cash-in here.
SAMS A CHAMP (5) was forced to race tough in the breeze last start and was in for the fight when claiming 2nd when 3m from MAKO BANNER. His Redcliffe record is exceptional and he will be right there.
JERRYS JET (8) rolled to the breeze from gate 3 here 2 starts back and was able to control the race and prove too strong. They were a bit zippy last start when on the pegs but he can be sharper here.
SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (6), POLISHED ROCKS (1), SAMS A CHAMP (5), JERRYS JET (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 6 / 1-5-8
BETTOR WATCH HIM (3) was a heat winner of this series when taking them all the way from gate 1 when running even splits throughout. His run 2 starts back was full of merit after covering plenty of extra territory and 3 back he chased gamely behind the smart NEWPORT DREAMZ. He can cash-in.
TASCOTT LADY (1) looked to lead all the way in her heat and after hustling early to maintain the inside advantage was only grabbed on the line to go under a half-head. Her previous run was in much stronger company and with the options from the ace gate will be right in the mix.
OSCARS GLORY (4) has placed at his past 2 starts at Marburg with the latest a tough effort from the breeze when 3rd to REDDY FIRE in his heat. That followed a tidy 2nd and he won’t be far away here.
LIGHTHORSE (2) had a look for the front from gate 4 in the heat but without the required speed to cross was forced to work in the breeze. He can have another early shot here and can feature.
SELECTIONS: BETTOR WATCH HIM (3), TASCOTT LADY (1), OSCARS GLORY (4), LIGHTHORSE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR WATCH HIM (3) to win
MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) found the position behind the leader from the mobile start here 3 runs back and chased gamely to take the bronze behind OUR OVERANOVA in a track record run. Last start he did some early work and battled gamely behind NEEDLE and with a safer getaway he can take this.
SOUTHERN ALPS (4) will be tightened from his return here last start when off the front line and claiming the silver behind OUR OVERANOVA. He moves to the 10m tape under these conditions and with handy figures around the triangle he can be right in the fight.
ASTRAL RULER (1) is shooting for the hat-trick after wins at the 2280m stand and the 2040m mobile. He worked hard in the run last start when forging clear to victory and will give a sight from this gate.
MELPARK ROYAL SON (3) made an error in the run 2 starts back and then last time under mobile conditions couldn’t get into the race with the strong up-front tempo. He can be sharper here.
SELECTIONS: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6), SOUTHERN ALPS (4), ASTRAL RULER (1), MELPARK ROYAL SON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) to win
