IM BATMAN (2) made it 3 straight wins in Qld last start when working his way to the front from gate 5 and once in control was never in danger when scoring a 9m victory. With the bonus of re-inclusion to the main draw, he finds another suitable race and looks set to remain undefeated on the triangle.
TULHURST KATE (7) sat back in the pack here 2 starts back over the 2040m trip and when asked for the effort cruised home to an easy victory. Finding the front last start over the sprint trip and setting a steady tempo, she was collared on the wire. With a cosy trip, she will be looking for space.
CHEYENNE AUTUMN (1) should be able to secure a nice trail on the back of the fav from this gate. Working home nicely last start to grab the bronze with the easy ride looks a place player in this.
WECANONLYHOPE (3) had a soft trip on the poles last start but wasn’t aided when the sulky tyre was flattened. Runner-up in her previous 3 starts, she can look to chime in here.
SELECTIONS: IM BATMAN (2), TULHURST KATE (7), CHEYENNE AUTUMN (1), WECANONLYHOPE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: IM BATMAN (2) to win
SWEET JASMINE (8) will take good benefit from her latest start when 1st up for her 3YO term. Pressing ahead early before opting for a trail, she used the passing lane to grab the silver, only to be dropped back a place for going inside the pegs. With the added experience, she might just pinch this.
FREDDIES CRUISER (1) is a 4YO mare on debut for the Vicki Rasmussen stable by Rock N Roll Heaven. Trialling against experienced performers in preparation for this, the effort had merit and landing the ace against this field, she can make an impression here 1st up.
PROMISES MADE (4) made her debut last start from inside the 2nd line when well-supported in the market. Given plenty of time to balance up, she was sound to the line in a mid-field position. Look for improvement here.
WHATELEY (2) was a winner here 5 starts back when finding the front from gate 5 and leading all the way. Not suited from wider gates or the 2nd line in each start since, he can give some cheek in this.
SELECTIONS: SWEET JASMINE (8), FREDDIES CRUISER (1), PROMISES MADE (4), WHATELEY (2)
GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) was a winner here 3 starts back when sent forward from gate 5 over the sprint trip. Rolling the sleeves, he was in for the fight after cutting the breeze and had the power to land the prize. Not far away from 2nd line gates in 2 starts since, he can capitalise from this alley.
WILD ABOUT TOWN (2) is racing in nice touch and last start was only grabbed in the closing strides when beaten a head. Circling them early to take up the running from the 2nd line, he went down swinging. Tough the start prior when 3rd behind IM BATMAN, he will throw down a big challenge.
INCITER (3) will be further tightened from his latest outing when 3rd up from a break. Eased back from gate 5 to look for short-cuts, it followed a 2nd here 2 starts back. He can chime in here.
SWANKYS ATOM (10) settled back in the pack from this gate last start and had the wind in the sails to swoop home to score. Warmed up with a hit-out at the Clifton Show to start her 3YO term, she will take great benefit from the win.
SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1), WILD ABOUT TOWN (2), INCITER (3), SWANKYS ATOM (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) to win
ARTFUL JINKS (8) was banished to the trials 4 starts back and after a pair of sizzling hit-outs returned here when beaten a half-head in a slogging finish. Not far away in 2 runs at AP since, the latest when working home strongly from back in the pack. Against this line-up, he looks to get his chance.
JUST JOSHIN (7) was working towards an overdue victory with successive placings on 3 occasions including a 2nd here 2 starts back when racing tough and falling a head short. The form was franked last start when he was too strong in the breeze to land a smart win. He looms as a big danger here.
COUNTRY RUN (1) is on the back-up from Tues at AP where he had drawn well in a small field. A winner here 5 starts back when finding his race, the gate is in his favour here.
CALL ME TRISH (2) sat back in the pack from gate 9 here 2 starts back and with a well-timed run arrived to land a nice win. Luckless when only a half-neck away last start, she is in the mix here.
SELECTIONS: ARTFUL JINKS (8), JUST JOSHIN (7), COUNTRY RUN (1), CALL ME TRISH (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ARTFUL JINKS (8) to win
FIRE AND ICE (10) was a winner her 5 starts back after easing back from gate 5 and then finishing over the top to claim a smart victory. He followed that with a meritorious effort from gate 12 over the AP 2138m and then 2 starts back was only beaten a lip. The gate is a stinger, but this is still within reach.
JOVIAL JULIE (1) should appreciate returning to the triangle after campaigning on the AP oval in recent starts. A winner there 5 starts back when leading throughout from gate 3, she lands the peg-line benefits here and with a top-3 in 7 of her 8 starts here at Redcliffe, she can go close.
RANFURLY RULZ (7) eased back to look for the shot-cuts last start when finishing down the line behind the in-form DOLLARBILL. With a soft trip on offer, he can settle closer and chime in here.
LIFEINHEAVEN (8) looked to take them all the way here 2 starts back and after a steady opening 800m amped it late and was only 1m away in 3rd. With a cheap peg-run on offer, she can be looking to chime in.
SELECTIONS: FIRE AND ICE (10), JOVIAL JULIE (1), RANFURLY RULZ (7), LIFEINHEAVEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FIRE AND ICE (10) to win
SPECIAL RESERVE (8) didn’t have much go her way last start from gate 4 when caught wide and covering plenty of track. Under the circumstances it as a good run when only 8m away from the winner. Closing strongly the start prior when only 1m from the 2nd line, back to mares only company is a big plus and she can overcome the gate.
PURE CHARISMA (6) started from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and settling in a handy position was able to make the closing shot a winning one in landing a narrow victory. Not far behind JACKS AT THE BEACH last start, she can overcome the tricky gate here to issue a challenge.
MAFFIOSO GIRL (7) will need some luck from this gate but if the space opens, she can make a closing challenge. Resuming from a spell and having her 1st start in Qld for the Elkins barn, the cosy trip looks ideal 1st up.
MISS CATALINA (9) is in consistent touch at present, finishing in the money at 7 of her past 8 appearances. Runner-up last start at Armidale, she is an exotic player in this line-up.
SELECTIONS: SPECIAL RESERVE (8), PURE CHARISMA (6), MAFFIOSO GIRL (7), MISS CATALINA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 6-7-8-9
SWORD AND SHIELD (1) was a winner here 4 starts back from gate 4 after settling in the running line and finishing over the top to claim a narrow victory. 2 starts back he was hitting the line strongly after easing back from gate 5. With his best gate for some time, he has the options and gets every chance here.
GOES BOOM (8) started from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and after being sent to the post as fav, didn’t let his supporters down when powering over the top and cruising away to an 8m victory. Charging home last start from a long way back, look for him putting the power on late again here.
RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (9) will take good benefit from his latest start when resuming from a break. Closing out nicely to grab the bronze, he can look for short-cuts and be chiming in late.
TRUNKEY DIGGER (6) went within a head of the in-form GUPTAS CULLEN last start after making a late dive. Luckless the start prior when looking for space that didn’t present, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: SWORD AND SHIELD (1), GOES BOOM (8), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (9), TRUNKEY DIGGER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SWORD AND SHIELD (1) to win
MAKE MINE JOE (10) might just find this race a little easier than recent starts despite landing the tough gate. Snagged back form a wide gate last start, he was chasing gamely behind the in-form HARD TO HEAR. Charging home, the start prior for the bronze when only beaten 3m, he can power home to the prize.
SHERIFF JUJON (3) was a winner here 2 starts back when able to press to the front and once in control never looked in danger to claim an 8m victory. Taking on a qualifier last start over the AP mile, he eased back early before attacking the line strongly to be 5m in arrears. He is a threat here.
ANDREW JAY (2) has developed a handy record here on the triangle with a top-2 in 6 of his 8 appearances with 4 of those victories. Finishing best from the 2nd line last start to score over the 2040m, he can be thereabouts.
ARTISTIC SAINT (1) took on a qualifier last start from gate 5 where he was eased back early and settling a long way back on the pegs, attacked the line strongly. With the peg-line benefits, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: MAKE MINE JOE (10), SHERIFF JUJON (3), ANDREW JAY (2), ARTISTIC SAINT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MAKE MINE JOE (10) to win
