JEDDY R YA READY (8) hit the line strongly in the 1st round of the McNeil Series to grab 2nd and then in the 2nd round made his own luck when rolling forward for a classy win. His run in the final was arguably as good as the winner SCORCHED and from the 20m tape can arrive for the prize.
EL SWAVO (5) started from the 20m tape last start and after doing some early work was able to find the line for a tidy 3rd behind MELPARK MAGIC. Tough from the breeze when holding on for the bronze in the 2nd round of the McNeil Series he can be in the mix again here.
MAJESTIC SIMON (4) comes into this as a huge risk from the tapes as displayed in both Aus starts to date where he has made a meal of the start. If able to get it right his real talent can be displayed.
GARLAND GREENE (1) made his Qld debut at Redcliffe where he lost all chance soon after the start. Trialling in good order to earn a return to the races, he can be an improver with a safe getaway.
SELECTIONS: JEDDY R YA READY (8), EL SWAVO (5), MAJESTIC SIMON (4), GARLAND GREENE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JEDDY R YA READY (8) to win
BLACKSADANCE (9) faces a tricky ask from the 2nd line but with race experience to call upon, might just be able to get over the top of his inexperienced opponents. Finding the front from gate 5 last start he led nearly all the way when grabbed late by CUT FROM ROCK. This looks within reach.
MY ULTIMATE TINTIN (5) makes his debut for Darrel Graham and is a Tintin In America gelding that is the 1st foal of his dam Sokys Courage to make it to the track. He arrives in Qld after earning his race ticket in NSW when trialling well at Menangle. He can be prominent 1st up.
IMA BEACH BABE (8) is a Sunshine Beach filly on debut for Peter Greig and ranks as a half-sister to the handy types IM NORMA JEAN and COREY WILLIAM. She has trialled well and will look for luck.
A RAINBOW DELIGHT (6) steps out for her 1st race appearance for Chantal Turpin and is by the champion sire Bettors Delight. A half-sister to SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW she can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (9), MY ULTIMATE TINTIN (5), IMA BEACH BABE (8), A RAINBOW DELIGHT (6)
HELLBOUND (2) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts with the latest effort a tough run from the breeze. Pressing forward from the 10m tape he was in for the fight when beaten a half-head which followed a tidy effort behind SPIRIT WALKER. Mobile conditions are his forte and this looks ideal.
MATATOKI (9) has been solid in 2 runs back from a freshen and will appreciate these conditions from the 2nd line. Working home strongly after a safe start from the 20m tape last start he found the line well when 4m from the winner. Finding a good spot in transit he can throw down a challenge.
SCORCHED (3) claimed the McNeil final 2 starts back after coming with a strong finishing burst to arrive for the prize. He never saw an opening last start and with only a moderate mobile record has place hopes.
REDRIVERDEBBA (5) didn’t have much luck last start and after being buried in the run did well to get within 5m of the winner. A classy winner from a 40m tape 5 starts back she can chime in here.
SELECTIONS: HELLBOUND (2), MATATOKI (9), SCORCHED (3), REDRIVERDEBBA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: HELLBOUND (2) to win
FAME ASSURED (4) had put together 5 successive wins since returning for her 4YO term displaying versatility in each with a mixture of fast closing wins and tough wins in the breeze. A beaten fav last start at Menangle when unable to force her way into the Ladyship mile qualifiers, her only concern here is race fitness.
PACIFIC DRUMS (3) will be best placed to challenge the fitness of FAME ASSURED and using his speed off the arm can find the pegs and have them chasing. Sent to the front from gate 6 last start over the mile he took them all the way in a career best win rate. If able to control over the middle distance he will test them.
THE BOYS GNP (1) can hustle early to protect the pocket trail and with a cosy trip on offer can be looking to sprint hard in the closing stages. Forced to work home from well back in his past 2 starts this suits.
IM FREE FALLING (6) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here at the mile. He will have to move out to gate 7 but with both wins coming in good style he can look to find the podium.
SELECTIONS: FAME ASSURED (4), PACIFIC DRUMS (3), THE BOYS GNP (1), IM FREE FALLING (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FAME ASSURED (4) to win
SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (6) started from gate 4 last time out at the mile and after being caught wide through the opening 600m including a sub 27 opener found the breeze with 800m to run. Throwing down the challenge he was strong to the line when only cracking with 75m to run. Despite the tricky gate he can arrive.
PLATINUM ROULETTE (3) made the most of his 1st appearance at Redcliffe and with the benefit of gate 1 was able to take them all the way over the 1780m trip at his 1st start in the Darrel Graham colours. Setting a slick time for the trip he can look to get forward here and will be right in the fight.
TOP TRIO (2) was buried away from inside the 2nd line last start and when sighting a gap was hitting the line strongly to be 5.5m from the winner. That was an improvement on his previous 2 starts and he can be thereabouts again.
LOTS MORE ART (5) wasn’t suited last start when sent to the breeze and forced to work in the early stages. His run 2 starts back was a shar effort from gate 7 when closing strongly and saved for one shot can swoop hard.
SELECTIONS: SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (6), PLATINUM ROULETTE (3), TOP TRIO (2), LOTS MORE ART (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (6) to win
FRANKIE ROCKS (4) will appreciate the return to the mile here after copping plenty of heat in the run last time over the 2138m where his record is 1 from 13 since turning 4YO. Despite being well beaten, he will take great benefit from the run after being 1st up from a freshen and forcing the issue early here can take control to take them all the way.
THE SHADY ONE (8) will have early options as the lone 2nd line runner and can look to get into the running line early. He found the line strongly here 2 starts back after being buried away in the run and was only 4m from the winner. With a sharp closing sprint he will enjoy the tempo and can swoop late.
COREY WILLIAM (3) wasn’t suited last start from the 2nd line and after being buried in the run was never in the mix. That followed a smart all the way win and despite facing a big class rise he won’t be far away.
NUI TOC TIEN (6) is another that like to work home off the speed and with there looking some good tempo in this he can be making a late charge. Only 6m from MACH ALERT 2 starts back he can feature.
SELECTIONS: FRANKIE ROCKS (4), THE SHADY ONE (8), COREY WILLIAM (3), NUI TOC TIEN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE ROCKS (4) to win
SMART AS CAMM BE (5) started her 3YO term how she left her 2YO with a victory here at Albion Park. After a pair of trials to prepare for the return, she worked to the front from gate 2 and was relatively left alone and was never troubled to score a 9m victory. She can go 2 for 2 for the term.
TUAPEKA LIGHT (8) will need a slice of luck from the gate and be looking to find the gaps and space. Taking the trail behind the in-form ESCALERA last start she chased gamely to be 4m in arrears. That followed a 2nd to her stablemate SMART AS CAMM BE and if sighting space will be sprinting hard.
BOULDER CITY (6) shoots for the hat-trick after a pair of smart wins when able to lead all the way in each. The latest of those was a slick 1.54.0 mile with a 6m margin. The gate makes it tricky.
DATITUDE (1) has had mixed fortunes in 3 starts back from break. He arrived for a win when 2nd up after hitting the line strongly and then may have found the 2138m a bit beyond him at this stage of his prep last start. He can make the most of the gate.
SELECTIONS: SMART AS CAMM BE (5), TUAPEKA LIGHT (8), BOULDER CITY (6), DATITUDE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 5 / 1-6-8
IM NORMA JEAN (2) will take good benefit from her latest outing when 1st up from a freshen. A winner of a mares qualifier back in December she was freshened and taken to Tamworth where she claimed the Golden Guitar final from the front. Lighting the lamps here she can look to hold them off.
LIFES BLACK (9) capitalised on gate 1 last start and over the mile trip was able to get a comfortable opening 800m before ramping the tempo in a tidy closing 800m. This will be new territory for him in chasing the speed, yet he should be able to trail through nicely at the start and look to challenge.
PINUP BOY (8) will need plenty of luck from this gate to find some space but if the gaps arrive he can be charging late. A career best win rate last start came when allowed to roll in front and he just needs some luck to podium here.
SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (10) has been in the money at 6 of his 7 starts for the season and will come into this after being freshened. Last start he found the line soundly and 2 starts back was strong from the breeze when 2nd to CASINO GRIN.
SELECTIONS: IM NORMA JEAN (2), LIFES BLACK (9), PINUP BOY (8), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (10)
SUGGESTED BET: : IM NORMA JEAN (2) to win
